I would recommend not going to Explorer USA. I live in a Escapees CO-OP park in Hondo about 40 miles from San Antonio and a lot of the folks here go to a repair shop in Pipe Creek not far from SA. I have not used them so can not say. Good luck we have a mobile repair guy that comes here does good work and reasonable prices.

The shop in Pipe Creek is CLASS A RV REPAIRS and I haven't used them. The place farther north on Hwy 16 just south of Bandera is Hillcounty RV and I have had work done there. I was not happy with the price (not as quoted) nor the workmanship. Wagner RV in Castroville TX is just west of San Antonio and is reliable and prices fairly and does good work. If you look on Craigslist, if you see ads by a person called Michael Magee, well avoid at all costs.

Explore USA told me they don't work on it unless they sold it or at least they have none of their own prior customers with work needing done. Wagner RV is at 350 County Road 4516, Castroville TX and their phone number is (210) 679-6610.

If you just need tires mounted/balanced, the Discount Tire on Culebra Road is good to work with but order tires prior so they will be on hand and get them to price match the Discount Tire online site which is quite a bit less than in store prices. They will price match any bona fide seller and the Discount Tire online site is usually one of the cheapest.

For tire wear issues, I don't know that you should be looking for an RV place - maybe a place that works on trailers. How large is your RV? That'll help determine where to send you.

What type of tire wear issues are you having?

If the tires need balanced, Discount Tire or the like is the answer but if the axle is bent, there is NO PLACE in San Antonio that straightens bent axles any more. Had this issue and looked HARD. I just ended up replacing a Lippert axle and ordered it and had it installed through Wagner RV.

whcarr, Have you been following?

The camper is a 371 fusion toy hauler, 2 7000lb. Axles all four tires are wearing on the inside edges, with the left front being the worst. We have a pressure monitoring system and have always kept the tire pressure with in a couple of pounds if 110lbs. Have had the truck trailer combo weighted 3 times. Always been under recommend weight. Trailer has been towed about 6000 miles. Usually drive 62 mph. Tire temps across the tread width are usually within 2 to 4 degrees and fairly consistent from tire to tire.dont think we have ever hit any thing that would cause any problems. Thanks Bill

If both sets of tires are wearing on the inside edge It would have to be one of two things, overweight on the axles or bent axles. If they are wearing all the same it wouldn't have anything to do with alignment even though they could be out of alignment but that's not the initial cause of the insides wearing, so that can be ruled out in my opinion. Replacing the axles may be as cheap as trying to have them rebent to factory specs. Did you purchase RV new or used...if used, the previous owner may have overloaded it at some point.

I can't imagine the OP exceeding the GVWR of 17K on the axles with G rated tires, though I would say he should get some additional weights, especially like the axle weight of the RV to determine what he does have there. Combined weight is good to know but the individual weights are better.

Not all Chinese tires/brands are bad! Sailuns have an excellent reputation for being good tires with all things being equal.

I have not had the individual tire weights, but have had each individual axle weight done. Don't have the weight slips on me but the trailer axles where both under 7000lbs. When fully loaded, even had auxiliary gas tanks 1/2 ,some black and fresh water. Axles where fairly close. We bought the trailer new Jan 2016

One quick way to check for a bent axle may be to put a level on the wheel bead and see if they are plum, straight up and down. You'd have to hit the bead in 2 places obviously. I've not tried it but it makes sense that it would give you an idea as to whether their bent or not. Similar to following a car that's overloaded and seeing the tires leaning out at the bottom.

I had mine aligned about 6 months after new, it had worn the tread on 2 tires down substantially. At the time Crossroads recommended an alignment shop that did trailers (in Elkhart In), they found both axles 1/2"+/- out of camber & 3/8"+/- off on castor & said that normal for Lippert axles. They charged $125 per axle which I was reimnursed & replaced both tires, tires have worn totally true since. You do realize that both inside/outer edges will wear more due to the tires scrubbing in tight turns, probably more so on THs with triple axles.

I thought about turning wear, but it's only the insides. Will take a peek at them with my level

Those are excellent tires. I agree with the above, at least in principle.

Throw a camber gauge on the trailer wheel, see if you're tweaked.

If I recall right, factory axles are actually not straight, they are intentionally cambered in a negative manner by bowing the axle up towards the RV floor. This helps the camber go neutral upon applying weight...
