Dometic 310 porcelain toilet
Has anyone ever replace the blade seal on one of these toilet and if so can it be done through the top without taking the toilet out or apart?

Yup, Turn the water off, step on the flush lever, use your fingers to push the old seal down and off the mount, then install the new seal in the same fashion. You might have to use the "seal molding technique" if the new seal doesn't hold water. You simply flush, pour a half gallon of hot water into the bowl, let it sit until cool. The water will "mold" the new seal to the proper shape. Olive oil (don't ask) will help lubricate the seal and is also "good for your black tank".....

Only thing I would add is wear disposable latex gloves.

It's really not a "dirty job". Use a toilet brush, a little soft scrub, clean the bowl, dump the black tank, and it's almost clean enough to feel "comfortable" without the gloves. Yes, I'd also suggest using them, but more for "personal comfort" and "psychologic" reasons than for any "significant sanitary danger". Now, if I were in Chuckster's position and doing it on a "total stranger's" RV, you bet I'd "double glove" before I opened the bathroom door...... That's the "psychologic" part..................

Better safe than sorry. But remember, germs are much bigger and more dangerous in our minds than in real life. No matter how you slice it, this will be a crappy job.

Having survived 29 years in close proximity to individuals infected with stuff that doesn't go away, call me what you want but I intend on enjoying the rest of my life. I am not offended in anyway by any of the comments made, just offering my perspective.

I don’t know why you need to change it. When mine started leaking 3 or 4 years ago, I robbed a little Vaseline on it (wearing rubber gloves), as not leak since. Just my 2cbt.
