Newb checkin
Newb here.
In the process of venturing into the world of RV'ing. Wife fell in love with a Keystone Passport Ultralight Elite (23RB) at our very first visit to an RV dealership. Joining this group to get educated on Keystone TTs, establish friendships, and help others where possible.
Wife & I are nearing retirement and want to get back out and reconnect with America.
Plan is to take reoccurring trips of 1-2 months in duration, each focusing on a specific quadrant of the country. Focus will be on nature (hike, bike, and watch the sun set by a camp fire). Intend to move frequently (e.g. - NORCAL trip = 1 week Tahoe, 1 week Yosemite, 1 week Monterey, & 1 week Bay area // back home to recover for 6 months). Don’t know if that is a good plan or not, but will find out shortly.
Starting from scratch. Going to purchase tow rig and travel trailer. Now it’s time to research…
Thanks for listening,
Bob

Welcome to the forum!!
You have come to the right place for good information and great people. ANY plan that involves taking the RV out and using it is a good plan.

Welcome to the Forum From Western PA
Sounds like a good Retirement Plan, Suggest you read the many posts here related to camper/tow vehicle combinations for now and into the future. Best to have some safety margin as well as margin for future growth (Campers do grow for various reasons )
Enjoy

Welcome, neighbor. Send me a PM and let me know where you are in Wmsbrg. Always glad to help out. Read up on things before you buy that TV. Lots of information on here to help you make the right decision the first time.

Thanks guys!
Heard what the salesman said about the Keystone Passport Ultra Lite Elite 23RB yesterday at the dealership. Now its time to see what the real story is.
Look forward to the research process, establishing some friendships, and joining the world of RVing!
Hey neighbor. Sent you a PM. I’ll bring the beer.

Bob,
I've owned 2 Passports and have enjoyed them both. When shopping for a Tow Vehicle (TV) I'd go with a 3/4 ton at least. I wish I had. It gives you better options when If there is ever a thought you might want to upgrade to a larger trailer. Have fun researching.

Welcome to the forum from Kansas City, MO! Tbos has it straight. Find your trailer, find an appropriate tow vehicle (tv) and then add the next size at least. You will want to upgrade at some point and you'll be good to go. Good luck and enjoy the adventure.

As others have said~~ give a 3/4 ton serious thought to give some cushion now and room to grow in the future...

Thanks for all the feedback. Still searching for the right package. Leaning towards passport elite RB23 with Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4.

Welcome
I feel funny welcoming you since we are quite new ourselves. We researched for several years and settled on the Passport Elite 23rb. We couldn't be happier. So much storage space, way bigger kitchen space than most small tt's. The quality is above average and the price is hard to pass up. We tow with a Nissan Titan and would highly recommend looking at them. Good luck with your search.
