Cal, congrat's on the 61st. I'm kinda like Joe; Momma's looking pretty good, but you need to pick it up a little! Nah, not really...somebody gave the advice a few posts ago to never stop planning, VERY good advice.

Congrats on the 61 years! Sorry to see you leave, but the best wishes in your next chapter. Thank you for all of your tire insight, I have learned more than I ever thought I would reading your posts.

Thank you Cal for the help you gave to me when I first got my 26RBPR and was considering new tires. I am thinking just because you have retired the rig you are still planning on commenting and giving advice? After all you are kinda famous or infamous on this list. Carrie and I are only at 45 years and we look like we have been run hard and put away wet compared to you two!
Oh, I like the looks of the new ride.

Actually we are considering the Nest for our short (3-5 day) trips to FL or the Gulf Coast.

We also like up-state NY along the St. Lawrence, where the fishing is GREAT.

I can't imagine my self saying goodbye to RV. Probably I would not sell my rv and just place it in our backyard and maybe stay there for an overnight just to think of the past.

We also are celebrating our 61st wedding anniversary. We are 83 and 80 and have been RVing for 56 years. But I did not know quitting was an option. I thought it was like marriage. Both are a lifetime commitment. We camped on the Blue Ridge Parkway in July and at Smokemont near Cherokee in September. Lots of luck in your new endeavor.

We just came back from Cherokee. It's colorful at this time of year, we go every October, our anniversary month. We were 19 & 16 when we got married making us 80 & 77, a little younger than you guys.

We looked at the Bambi Airstream 10-12 years ago at the Ft Worth RV show, the "show price" was over $48k for a 16' RV!!!! I told the sales person that recycled aluminum beers can prices must be way up to charge that kind of money for 1/2 a RV, he didn't thinking it was funny.
Can't imagine, didn't open the link, the price on the tiny ones shown above that you'd have to go outside to change your mind.

Congratulations on your 61 years! I hope that even though you sold your truck and RV that you stay here on the forum since you have so much to share. I would like to read about your favorite RV stories.

We drove from Missouri to Pete's RV in Indiana. We traded the 2016 Heritage Glen travel trailer for our new 5th wheel cougar. The people at Pete's RV could not have been nicer and everything went great. We left Friday morning and then on the way home spent the night at a KOA and got a good night's sleep. Everything works great, I will have to get used to the electronic pad that does everything, lights, slides, havoc, awnings, ect.

Cal

From one dislocated Mainer family to another, all the best to you and your DW.

And best wishes with your new TV and Nest. Maybe our paths will eventually cross on the backroads.
