Inaugural trip with Cougar 21RBS

We picked up the 2014 Cougar X-Lite 21RBS end of April and spent some time doing some mods prior to first outing with it the week of June 2.

Mods done:
1. Dump hose storage tube installed underneath
2. LED bulbs
3. Hook rack installed in bathroom
4. Replaced 19" tv with 24" including new bracket.
5. Pegboard installed in front storage compartment

Overall the trip went well. Unit was very comfortable and with the dinette I was able to spend a rainy day working (have laptop will travel) while DW went shopping.

There were some issues, one minor, one not so. The minor one is that a scissor stablizer failed to stay in the retracted position. The threaded bolt had backed out, so I removed the whole stabilizer for travel.

Now the not so minor issue. The black tank would not dump. Fortunately I have one of those clear fittings that allow one to visibly see and attach a hose to backflush a little. Pulled the valve handle and all that came out was a trickle. Operated handle numerous times, nothing. Turned metal valve rod thinking maybe it came detached, nothing. Had DW open toilet thinking maybe vent was blocked, nothing. Backflushed towards valve, nothing. Finished packing and drove around campground thinking maybe something got clogged and stopped at dump station at cg exit, no avail, same results.

TT is now at dealer. I consider this all warranty work and it will be interesting to find out what had happened. The service tech did comment that a number of years ago, they had a run on clogged black water tanks where they were pulling out large black plastic garbage backs.

Will post what the end result is....maybe tank cutout piece left in?

That is interesting, did the sensor say it was full? I hope liquid did not leak out all week leaving just the solids. Good luck on the repair.

Sensor did indicate full and a visual check via toilet confirmed. No liquids leaked out during time hooked up. Only dumped grey water until time came to do final dump, black & grey, prior to leaving site.

Black Water Tank

Hello, I just bought the 28RLS and had a large round disk come out (I think it was from them drilling for the vent tube.) Luckily it didn't plug up anything. I hope they fix yours soon.

Will be interesting if it is a cutout blocking the hole, good luck.
