Yup.

Although a business could be "doing the right thing " by not sending a customer on their way, it is something that could be abused big-time.

I see both sides though.

I thoroughly enjoy the towing threads on here. This forum is like a breath of fresh air compared to the 73-87 Chevy truck forums I am on. Many of those fellas will tow anything they can hook up to.

I saw a Dodge 1500 over the 4th that looked similar to the Burb the OP posted. Rear tires tucked, WD bars attached to the first link, camper about 10* nose down. Sketchy.

The rig pulled in as I was pulling away. It was hard to capture the picture in the few seconds I had.

What really made my stomach turn was the driver's blatancy as his family exited the vehicle. There was no attempt by the driver to look at the suspension when he stopped. No indication that he even cared. Just a spectacle for others to watch and shake their heads.

I wasn't the only one staring as several other onlookers took notice too. Even someone who has little to no experience with safe trailering would gasp after seeing this.

SO, the dealer WAS wrong to refuse giving me keys to my new car while I was 3 sheets to wind! I knew it!

I'm pretty sure that we had something like this happen in BC where they would have brake specials and all the kids would take their cars in but they would keep the cars as as the kids brakes were all toast! But just around the corner the car lots were having those push/pull me specials on but soon the government caught on and it all became illegal.

I don't see the problem. Some #12 screws holding it to the plywood and some bailing wire in the receiver and you're set to go.....

Just visit your local state park's dump station and wait a fee minutes with your camera. You'll have plenty of pics.

True story: a fellow tech walks into my unit and says "you gotta see this", starts looking on his phone but can't find it, start telling me about this crazy 5th wheel hitch set up. I go to lunch and as usual I check in on the forum, notice new post on this thread. Open it and BAM there it is. Guess maybe it's gone viral?

WalMart parking lots would be a good bet. In a way, even if misplaced, you have to admire the effort and creativity involved.

I saw a big triple axle Cyclone being pulled by an older model 2500HD SRW on my last trip out with the Fuzion. The guy must have been upset that I passed him on a grade doing the speed limit (cruise control), because as soon as we hit the flats he then passed me at over 80mph. Pulling a 16~20k trailer with a 3/4 ton late model truck is just as bad as the original pic in this thread.

Nothing wrong with towing a heavy trailer on bump stops, right?

If it is riding on the bumpers, it is not setup correctly.

Couldn't of said it better the WDH is not setup correctly .
With so many ways to learn and research ,this kind of towing is unacceptable . And more importantly unsafe to innocent drivers who share the road .

Saw this yesterday, no reason for this rig to be set up like that; except lack of knowledge.

We have a guy in town that tows a older 24 to 26 foot 5th wheel with a 2 door Jeep with the top off and the hitch sitting where the back seat would be. I see it about 5 times a year at the college football game. He stripped the insides and made into a bar and even cut the side so pull up stool. He pulls about 3 miles from storage to the parking lot. I haven't caught him on the road in several years but I do I will be sure snap a pic.
