Power awning will not retract

We have a 2113 300KBS with a power awning and up till this weekend it has worked great. But now it needs help retracting. It will extend just fine. Unless it is a quick fix it will be going to the dealer. I just don't want to haul it a 100 miles for something simple.

Thanks

Gotcha, Have you checked to make sure the awning arms are not in a bind or have anything obstructing them in a way that would make the motor have to work too hard to lift the awning back in place?

Other than that, not sure what could be the issue.

This is what I was thinking, when the awning is fully extended make sure the awning arms are fully extended by turning the knobs on the bottom part of the arms to make sure they are all the way out and then retract the awning and see if it works better. This is the only thing that comes to mind unless the motor is on its way out and is having a hard time rolling it back up.

Is yours a Lippert Solara awning? I'm having the same issue with my Lippert 21' . If I tip the awning it will not retract, and will only retract half of the time when its not tipped. Dealer is ordering a new motor. I hate this awning, and will most likely take it off next spring and install a manual awning.

Yes it is! Now today the thing is working fine. It is almost as if it is starving for power. Yesterday I was running off of just 12V power. Today I was plugged into park power and it works fine.

Check your battery then you might have a bad cell.

I'm seasonal, and TT is always plugged into shore power. Its still a crap shoot if the thing works or not. Hopefully your problem is just a bad battery... Good luck.

The awning runs off of the battery not the charging system. If the battery has a dead cell, it may not have enough power for the awning. It does not matter if you are plugged into shore power. If you leave the battery switch on all the time, check the battery. The charging system will continue to charge even if the battery is fully charged. This can boil the battery dry. I would try load testing the battery.
