Dometic Refrigerator door shelves...

On our 1000 miles plus 2019 Passport trailer adventure in February, which was great, we had a problem with the door shelves in the fridge, loaded with bottles and/or other stuff, either popping, or jumping, out of their molded in brackets on the door. The never fell totally out, but would be in there crooked or one side would be pulled away when we stopped somewhere. Nothing broke, and the shelves would go right back into their proper places.

Anyone else experience this, and anyone know of a fix?

Thanks.

If you look at the door molding (not the shelf but the actual white interior door panel) you'll see an indentation where it looks like something should/could be attached. Dometic sells "MAGIC FINGERS" to fit those moldings. They are "standard equipment" on the more expensive Dometic refrigerators and, like ice cube trays and the second shelf, are omitted as a cost cutting measure on the less expensive models. You can find them at most Dometic dealerships, RV parts departments and online. Here is one source: http://www.dyersonline.com/dometic-magic-fingers.html

If your particular refrigerator does not have the moldings in the door interior panel, then the magic fingers won't fit. In that situation, possibly a piece of closed cell foam, cut to squeeze behind the bottles will hold them in place.

Thank you! I will take a look and see if the "Magic Fingers" will work with my fridge.

Funny, when I think of "Magic Fingers", the first thing that comes to mind is those vibrating motel beds. :-)
