Individuals are VERY passionate about the RV cleaning/waxing products they use. I use the following products for the ease of application, UV protection, long lasting, good shine, and beading action--Turtle Wax ICE and Wash and Wax All

I also use the same products & have had good results at affordable prices. I use a mix TW Car Wash soap & Mcquires Gold car wash also with good results. Use Simple Green concentrate mixed on the strong side in a pump up sprayer, spray roof & let set a few minutes, then use the soap mixture scrubbing with a medium bristle brush & rinse. Use the SG on the awnings as well, spray down, roll up for a few minutes, scrubbing with the same brush & soap & rinse.

May I suggest not using product with "petroleum" on your decals as it will loosen the adhesive "they say!" My claim to still flawless decals is that I don't us petroleum based products and they still look great since February 2012 when it rolled off of the assembly line! And then again there may be those.....

Pretty much whatever wax you like... I use turtle wax spray...the one called “Ice” I also apply 303 to all the dark colors on mine twice a year.. really protects from fade due to UV

Seems most of the RV detailers in the Yuma AZ area use Maguires Gold. Don't know why but when we were there last month and had our rv done Washed and waxed, they used Maguires Gold. I went around the park we were staying in and and asked several different outfits that were washing and waxing RV's with, before the people left to head up North. All of them were using Maguires Gold some also using Maguires wash and wax. I made the 900 mile trip home and there were bugs on the front of my fiver. It rained a couple of days later and the bugs are all gone, and my fiver looks shiny and new.

Whatever you use, use it often. I'm doing battle with the Texas sun and I'm losing. Once you "lose it" you can't get it back. If I have $1 worth, I have $500 worth of wax, cleaners and compounds.
Next one will be full paint.
Be aware if you use a strong roof cleaner it will strip wax off the sides, so do the roof first.

Nu Finish Liquid Wax, Murphy's Oil Soap on the roof, Gel-Gloss RV Wash and Wax to keep the RV body clean, a Wooster Brush Sherlock Extension Pole with a blue brush head. Additionally, when cleaning the roof I use a tooth brush to clean the gutters out each spring; a lot of black gunk builds up. Cleaning the roof helps eliminate the black streaks, removing the black gunk in the gutters helps even more.

I was just at the auto parts store to pick up some type of "wax" for the sides of my TT...filon with graphic decals. I picked up both NuFinish,, TW Ice and Maguires Gold as were used/recommended here. However after reading label of each, all three said not for use on vinyl. Aren't the decals on most of our RVs vinyl?

Am I missing something? Do I ignore the "do not use on vinyl" statements? Please help...this conundrum is giving me a headache!

I haven't had any issues with waxing or even compounding over decals. However the rubber/vinyl rub strip on the sides that separate the filon from the bottom sheetmetal doesn't like wax on it. An Eraser white pad will get some of the wax off the strip.

I've seen a few videos on using Zep floor polish on the outside of RVs, especially to restore the gloss to faded units. It is applied with a sponge floor mop with no buffing needed, but can take 5-8 coats. I don't know what the long term durability would be given that it is not made specifically for outdoor use, but say one or two comments where it looked good a year later and a some where it said it was still good at 2 years.

As long as your wax does NOT contain petroleum distillates it should be fine.
I use 303 Protectant. Works for me. YMMV

Was wondering why you recommend not using products with petroleum distillates however Protect All, a common product for RVs and boats and the ever so popular Nu Finish contains petroleum distillates.

Before decal remover came along we used kerosene (petroleum) to remove decals. I know I am dating myself. JMO

I did a Google search for car wax with petroleum distillates. Holy crap!!!! There are a lot of options about this one.

Question Question about ZEP Wax

I've seen several posts mention ZEP Wax, and applying it to the RV. Seriously considered this in our old 291RLS, as the front cap fade/oxidation was terrible. I waxed that beast every year using Nu Finish, Meguiar's Gold, and others , and every spring it was as faded as before.

So my question about ZEP wax: Who has done it, and how long did it last? Any issues with cracking, yellowing, etc.? Your review.

Yes, I upgraded to a new RV, and it has a painted, clearcoat cap. So maybe my problem is an issue of the past, but still considering it. An acquaintance did his motorhome this past summer, but it was only a few months old last time I spoke with them.
