Hello from the Flathead Valley in NW Montana. The wife and I are both 40 years old. Have 3 boys ages 2, 9, and 11. We work full time so we don't get to use our camper nearly as much as we'd like to, but we spend plenty of time exploring Montana and Idaho (do you really need to go anywhere else?).
We've been playing with RV's for about 12 years. Started with a 1988 Wilderness 24' travel trailer. It was cheap and in good shape. Figured if we used it enough to be worth it we'd eventually buy a newer one. We used the heck out of that thing for a few years. Bought a brand new Shadow Cruiser 260BHS travel trailer in 2013, it was a total pile of junk so in 2014 we traded it in for a 2014 Denali 280BHS 5th wheel. We absolutely loved that 5th wheel and planned on keeping it until all our kids were grown up and moved out. But pulling it over in eastern Montana last spring I got hit by a micro-burst that ripped it off the back of my truck and cartwheeled it in the ditch. The Highway patrolman said just a few miles from me they recorded a wind gust of over 90mph. The wind was only blowing about 15mph steadily. Just a freak accident, but it happens in that area from time to time. My only regret is that it didn't take the truck with it so I could get a new truck out of the deal.
My wife and kids weren't with me and I've been through enough other wrecks to know I'm willing to take that tumble if it meant an excuse to buy a new truck.
Anyway, we take delivery of a 2019 Hideout 28BHSWE travel trailer this Thursday so here I am on the Keystone forums seeing what there is to learn about it.
We also enjoy boating on beautiful Flathead Lake, mountain biking, snowmobiling, riding dirt bikes, and showing off my beautiful 56 Chevy.
