Winterizing and Water Pump

I installed a winterize kit on my water pump last night to pull antifreeze direct into my plumbing (without using the fresh water tank). It seemed to go well, however, the pump stopped pulling antifreeze from the jug at a couple of different times. More so when the jug got low (however there was still antifreeze in it). The pump stayed on, just stopped pulling the antifreeze. I let the pump sit, opened a few spigots for a few seconds and re-engaged the water pump successfully.

In the end, my camper was successfully winterized. Just wondering if this is typical of a water pump? Or, perhaps i have an issue...air getting in from the new bypass adapter maybe?

Thanks!

It sounds like an air leak at the fitting on the inlet side of the water pump where the hose from the antifreeze container is attached.
