Hi from Western Washington

Wife and I are getting back into trailering after taking a 31 year break. When we had kids at home we had a 24' tt that we dragged all over the country with our 2 kids. Kids grew up and we sold the trailer in the 80's. Bought a 2014Cougar 26RLSWE in March this year that we pull behind a 96 F250 Powerstroke and we have been having a ball using it. We are planning a 2 or 3 month trip up the Alaskan Highway May or June of next year depending on the weather. Thinking about wintering in Yuma this winter.

Been lurking on this forum since March and in that time I have learned a bunch from you all. Lots of information and experience people on this forum and I hope I will be able to contribute as I gain knowledge and experience in the future.

Welcome from the Golden State, albeit a bit tarnished. Headed your way in a couple of weeks. The DS lives outside of Seabeck. Have fun on your journey on the AlCan.

Hi Irish. Welcome. We're heading your way next week. We've been to California and Oregon - two of our children lived in Portland for a few years (daughter taught at a charter school and son went to college there). We want to concentrate most of our time on Washington since we haven't seen any of the west side. Any suggestions? We've been told not to miss Anacortes/San Juan Islands/Fordalgo Island/Bay. We're totally in the dark about the coast.

KoKo,

Our DS lives in the Bremerton area and we have camped with them at Cape Disappointment State Park which is across the Columbia from Astoria and Fort Stevens. Lots of history - old coastal gun emplacements. Quiet, full hook-up campground walking distance from the beach. We have also stayed at Grayland Beach State Park which is further north toward Aberdeen. Nice, quiet park about 2 miles from the beach. Washington parks are a close second to Oregon's parks. If you stop in Seattle, you have to see the Pike Street Market (it's where they threw the fish in the old Levi's commercial) especially if you like sea food, micro-brewed beer and street entertainers.

Koko,

We have a booked trip to Cape Disappointment in a few weeks. We have heard it is beautiful. Have friends that will be making their second trip to Fort Ebey next month.
