Step lighting

Wondering if anyone has wired in step lighting into the above door sensor light on their 5th wheel?
I have a 2011 292FWBHS and there is a hole already in the frame behind the steps, but would like to wire into the other exterior light.

Welcome to the forum

If you can remove the panel or switch, you can use some type of stick or rod to see if you can access the underbelly. I would use a plastic "fish tape" so it won't hurt anything if it does make contact with a live wire.

As long as you can get to the underbelly with wire, your good. If there isn't a wiring hole, you might be able to remove enough underbelly and drill from the bottom. It would require measuring about 6 times before drilling as you want to be real sure where the hole is going to end up.

We have taken panels out of cabinets, and found where the wires come up into the interior, you could probably do the same. Just depends on how comfortable you are with taking things apart. Go slow so, you don't split any paneling, matching it could prove impossible.

Hopefully someone that has done this and has the same yr/model you do will see this and chime in. Otherwise good luck, go slow and post pics.
