New to me 2012 Fuzion FZ300 any words of advice with the slide?

I have a owned a toy hauler for the past 5 years and just upgraded to the FZ300 with the slide. I have never messed with slides before. Any words of wisdom/advice?

Thanks in advance.

With slides it is a good idea to have the unit level so put down the jacks before running out. Make sure that you have clearance outside and no one is in the slide. Lubrication is dry and Keystone on the web page gives directions on moving slide if motor is out. Also need batteries up to full charge even if you are attached to 120V power. Manual by Keystone is help and is on line. I also Armor the entire rubber gasket that seals the unit from the outside to keep it soft and flexible. Make sure the top of the slide is clean before you bring in.

x2 on cleaning off the top of the slide before bringing it in. Also don't walk on the slide while it is in. Other then that, enjoy the extra room

what about slide jacks or supports while they are extended? I am assuming they go under the rails, but how tight? Just snug, or push up a little to take weight off? I would hate to damage the slides by putting too much, or not enough support.

I was told with our fuzion 310 not to add slide supports.

hmm, I found all the gear for slide supports in my storage bins when the rig arrived, so assumed it was kosher. Does Keystone have a list, or policy on slide supports?

Mine is not a fuzion, but was assuming all slides are created equal?

Thank you

We added slide roll out awnings, they can be pricey but it beats having to make sure that there is no debris twigs or such. They are fairly common.

Is that something an average joe can do, or is it better left to the professionals? Also, meant to ask if there were brands to stay away from?

Right now Camping World has slide awnings on sale (for a good competitive price) and they are having a $39 Install Anything special. It's worth $39 to me not to have to dig around the pole barn to find my ladder. You may want to get on the CW website, see what the slides cost from them and then compare locally. But the $39 install is a great deal.

I wouldn't recommend the use of slide supports. Under normal usage , the slides are sturdy enough to support the weight of furniture, appliances, beds, or whatever else is in the slide out. There is a small amount of "flex" which is a good thing and by placing supports under the slide, it may make it too rigid or place unnecessary stress where it isn't needed or desired.
Supports may be needed if you were holding a dance in the slide or were jumping around but I doubt if you would be doing either.
If supports were a good thing, I would think that you would see a lot more RVers using them but I've hardly seen anyone use them since RV's came out with slides.
Also, if Keystone thought that they were necessary, then they might have included them with the unit or made mention of it in their "manual".

.
That is exactly what I was worried about, but when I saw them in the cubby, I figured they were there for a reason. My unit is 10 years old, will it eventually need braces? Everything seems to go in and out properly, although I am guessing the previous owners were not as heavy as I am.

I will set my office up, not in a slide, and that will probably save them long term.

Thank you very much for responding, I was worried when I read the slide pole box and it said "manufacturers recommend these for any stay longer than 48 hours!".
