Gearhead, shame on you! I believe you said that only to rub in the idea that most of us have no "Whataburger." Next you'll point out that we are also without a "Taco Cabana....."

Yep, Whataburger is the "go to" around here. Real burgers. I remember when McDonalds got down here in the 1970's. Everybody laughed. No lettuce, no tomato. Ketchup on your burger? Oh No! Not sure how far out of Texas Whataburger has gotten.
You got Pappadeaux? Pappasitta's?

Lankford's Grocery in Houston (as seen on Diners, Drive In's and Dives) offers one of the best burgers I've ever had. The best was at the airport restaurant at Lufkin. Those nice, southern ladies could build a burger.

It is just up hillbilly highway from us. We will have to check that out.

Dag on it gearhead ,Thats what I am having for lunch today a double meat and cheese all the way ,I only eat one a month but its great

No. It was just a one night stopover.
Actually we got nearnTannehill and it was mid day, so we drove on to Gadsen. Stayed at the city park......wackamucka falls or something. Not bad, but a lot of sites were very very unlevel.
