Very nice. We are considering adding a genset to our camper and wondered about the exhaust. We travel with our 2 dogs and worry that CO could build up under the camper. Did moving the exhaust help reduce noise as well?

yes it is a lot quieter. you still hear the cooling fan but that's about it. I can have it out of the bay and up in 10-15 minutes. of course that's the digging it out and putting it up. it is a must in close quarter camping and nice on those days the air is still. we have had the c02 alarm go off more than once since the front bed is almost above the exhaust. it worked well considering I had to guess about the pipe bends. our muffler shop has a very small parking lot. if we had been able to pull in he could have gotten the pipe that goes on the gen exhaust better. I still like the header wrap as added insurance.

this is the rv without the stack note the slide out locations the front bed room is horrible on days the air is still. and we don't leave it out when we travel and stop enroute. I drove a truck for years so I stop in truck stops. with the gen running the gas still triggers the c02 detector with the slideout out or in

I use the middle piece of the stack and another piece of pipe to run the generator inside the building. I fabricated a access port and cut a hole in the building. I made the port out of a 3" chain link fence post. I cut a 5" long piece of it off and welded 4 tabs on the bottom and use s post cap on the end. I bolted the port to the tin and all I have to do is pull the cap off and stick the exhaust pipe through. wrap n clamp the joints and start er up. I start the generator up every 2 months and that keeps everything running fine. note I have a c02 detector in the building to monitor the heating unit and the generator for excess exhaust. no problems

Thanks for the info. We are most likely going to get our generator installed toward the end of this month. Your mod had given me a good idea of what I need to do for mine.

I used 1/2" id tubing and welded a 1/4" nut to it a 1/2' rebar that is 24" long and welded a piece of flat stock on the bottom. as for the gentari that is a good price but I didn't like the bungee strap securement. I used aluminum angle with a big hole in the middle. and used 1/2" rolled steel and bent it into a u shape and slid on 1/2" fuel line as a insulator. NOTE: I make due with stuff I have. also you could use a jack stand to secure the bottom of the exhaust. I was afraid someone would steal it.
