Tank Flush

I recently purchased a 2014 Cougar 21RBS and it has a tank flush connection. I tried connecting city water to it and it doesn’t work. Is there a valve somewhere that I’m not aware of that I need to open so it fills and allows me to flush the black water tank? Thanks

There is an anti siphon valve, and you don’t need to open anything for it to operate. It may be installed backwards or it may be stuck.

You need to locate it, I’m not sure but from what I have read Keystone likes to put them in the bathroom under the sink. Should be two white lines. There is an arrow showing the direction of flow, and it’s easy to test.

If it’s there, hooked up correctly and working but your still not getting water to the black tank, post back and we can delve deeper into the problem.

I just watched a YouTube on it and it tells me the same thing as you did so thank you. I’ll dig into it this weekend and see what I can find. The video on YouTube showed the valve which was okay but the discharge into the tank was clogged. Hope that’s not the case because I don’t really want to go there. 😎

I just had a similar issue with mine. I took out the check valve and held it on a regular water hose. Nothing came out, but I was able to push on the ball and free it up (sprayed a little WD40). It now works fine.

I pulled out the check valve yesterday and it appears to be working. I believe it’s clogged at the discharge into the tank. Not sure how to access it since its above the polar pak. I picked up a tank wand and will try to blackest it because I really don’t want to cut into the underbelly. I’ve also heard that you can add Dawn and some hot water to the tank so we’ll just have to see. Thanks

If your underbelly is held in place with screws there’s no need to cut. I have had 1/2 of the underbelly laying on the ground in a 45 ft fifth wheel. Polar pack may be nothing more than an aluminum foil blanket.

Make sure the water flow is going in the correct direction, use low pressure air to blow through the lines first. You want to exhaust all other options before digging into the underside.
