If you follow the 7way plug back to the box, you can locate all the BLACK wires. They will all be connected together. Just start removing one at a time and I bet you’ll find the camera power lead. Then you can just put a weatherproof switch in-line.[/QUOTE]

Been busy this week but had a chance to take a peak in the junction box tonight. I don't have a lot of electrical experience but was wondering if in my box could be white? Looks to be about 4-5 white wires connected together with one black that is grounded to the box. If that is correct then I should start disconnecting one at a time until the power to the battery cuts off. Then install an inline switch?

White is ground.

Look for the break-away switch. It will have 2 black wires, one will have 12V going into it. If you trace that wire back to the junction box, where it’s attached will be the battery positive. That’s most likely where the power to the camera is.

Red face Stupid hint for Furrion Observation Camera connection

We got the Furrion Observation Camera for our new Fifthwheel, and hooked it up with no problem at all.

First trip out, we hooked up at 8:00 in the morning, head down the road for a 300 mile journey, and the camera worked great for the first 40 miles - then nothing. DW picked up the monitor, played with the settings, still nothing. Since it was fairly new, something must of died in the new camera. As we're driving along I still thinking about how the camera gets power through the clearance/parking lights.

Fifteen minutes later, it dawns on me! Or more appropriately I see the light.
Like most newer model of vehicles, our RAM has automatic headlights, which is what I have ours set on. By coincidence, it must have just been overcast enough to have the automatic lights come on for the first 40 minutes of our trip, and then the lights went off - along with it, the clearance lights.

Yes, when I figured it out, I turned the truck headlight switch to the on position, and the camera came back on.

At least I solved the problem before sending the camera back in for repair.

Chuckster, if you could help me out. I've got the same problem on my Laredo. Which junction box are you talking about, the one at the fifth wheel pig tail connection? As always, appreciate you input and insight.

Yes, the one that the cord you plug into the truck comes out of.

Furrion 12 volt plug

I have had to replace my fuse twice since my purchase last August. Like an earlier poster I keep a supply of fuses on board. Trying to determine if there is a sequence of events that may be causing failure.

Mine did the same thing when I first plugged it in. I think they had a bad batch of fuses.
