The biggest issue you’re facing as you already know is the 3:08. The suburban is a full frame long wheel base vehicle. An upgrade to LT tires from P tires will creat stability. If you don’t want to change vehicle, do a gear swap. If you upgrade to a 3:42 or 3:73 you will be much happier with your towing experience. Just expect a drop in fuel mileage when not towing.
