Since the GC3 is electric for that to happen it would have had to have power and either someone hit the switch, or the remote control... or you have a short..

Javi, you may have misread. Yes you can leave them extended during storage.

Yes. I have left mine that way for two winters in a row. No problem.

I'm leaving my 32RLI jacks down this winter. I did pull the battery for the winter, so I can't move it or raise the jacks until I bring the battery back.

Just make sure the battery is FULLY charged. GC3.0 doesn't like low voltage and you will get errors if the voltage drops below 12.0 for even a nano second. How do I know this? I spent 2 1/2 hrs on the phone with an LCI tech chasing an "auto level fail" message, changing components and using a volt/Ohm meter while operating the system. 12.7V on the display and your pushing it.

Something to consider if you store your trailer in a "community lot" or "commercial storage center": Storing it with the leveling system feet down, then removing the battery will prevent anyone from being able to move your trailer in the event of an emergency. This may be "good" if you're concerned about theft, but in the event of a fire, having to move trailers to prevent damage, or other reasons, if you put the jacks down and remove the batteries, you might prevent your trailer from being "saved" in the event of an emergency.

If you store on your own property, the same applies, but maybe it would be easier to "throw a battery in the trailer and pull up the jacks"... then, maybe it wouldn't. YMMV

Further commenting on John's post. I have only ever used a storage facility on 2 occasions. Both contracts stated that the trailer must be capable of being moved. As I recall this was also verbally mentioned at the time. YMMV

And you end up buying a new controller/screen for $200+ as I did this past February after I installed the new series 27 battery. Don't let the voltage drop below 12.7 and use the push button pad...

Can it cause permanent damage to the system or will a reset, unplug try to level and then plug back in fix it? Mine quit auto retracting and the battery did get low before this happened, so just curious

Usually you’ll get a jack error and that requires “rehoming” all the jacks. Not terrible on the GC 3.0 4 point. A huge hassle on the 6 point as you can’t manually extend the middle jacks.

Thanks I'll look how to set one so maybe I can get the auto retract back and the weird auto leveling shenanigans will stop.

If you have mice or other small rodents in the area where you store it, the legs provide a good access point. I store mine just on the tires and front jack for that reason.

Tufelhunden and Chuckster

Not to hijack the thread, so maybe we should move this topic to a new thread, but...

We have a CC3. 0 with 4 point on our new 29RS. Other than re-zeroing level it has worked well. But a couple comments you guys have made make me think I should know a little more about our system and the circumstances in which I might need to know it. Can you please elaborate on the issues? For instance, don't let it get below 12.7v... heck that's like 95% SOC. We definitely get lower than that at times. And when do you need to "re-ground"? Or how is it the screen or control need to be replaced?

Edit: Oops forgot to say ours is a grand design 29rs, not a keystone, not that that makes a difference. We traded in a cougar half ton 24rbswe tt, and I still hang out here to learn.

Thanks
Mike
