I will neither confirm nor deny the presence of firearms in my trailer.

Same line we used in the Navy when asked about "special weapons" being on board my ship. On one occasion, in Rota, Spain, I felt like I was getting pumped for information, finished my beer and left.

Inexpensive safes as shown below are available at all big box stores and Harbor Freight and online. They are not top security but will keep honest folks honest and prevent little fingers from touching things that they should have been taught not to touch in the first place.
As mentioned in the many threads on this subject .... Check the laws in all states that you may travel through. Your hand gun may be legal in your home state but the capacity of the magazine can make you a felon in another.
Do your research and travel safely, Hank

He asked that I not make movements to that area and I told him that is where my wallet is and he nodded. Came back in a few minutes and gave me a warning and told me "thanks for exercising your constitutional right to carry a weapon"; I reciprocated and told him I appreciated what he did for all of us and we bid each other a good day.
I have been stopped a couple times. They usually ask me to put both hands on the wheel and ask how many firearms are in my possession. I tell them and ask if they want to look at them and no LEO has ever taken me up on it.

What I used in my TT, haven't moved to the fiver. Light weight when empty, can bolt it down and has both key and combo lock.

Yes I do, it is normally on me. When not I put it somewhere that I can get it quickly. I do not have any children around while traveling.

What I check before a trip:
http://www.handgunlaw.us/
When you get pulled over by LEO they usually know you have a concealed permit when they run your license plates. Some states have roadside electronic readers that check plates and check data on who owns them. Ironically, I stop in Winchester Virginia to stow the firearm so I'm legal in Maryland.
Nevertheless a pickup truck with Texas plates is usually packing.

It's been hard to avoid Maryland lately. I was just up there again a couple weeks ago, just passing through. Tried to not spend any money there.
I want to turn the switch on to the Rockies. Been too long.

I was looking into one of these safes for our center console, which locks, but I think the safe would be more of a deterrent than the cheesy lock in the lid.

I liked this one because it bolts to the floor of the truck and still allows access to one of the USB ports in the console.

Nothing is completely safe, but this seemed like a better option than nothing.

I have not looked into a safe for the trailer, it is just the two of us, so I am not sure of the need... the pillow seems good enough for now

Easy, easy.... The thread got a little sideways for a bit but it has been going pretty good for quite a while....Looks like the politics etc. has kind of left the conversation....I hope...

I travel with a firearm or firearms quite frequently. As far as location of them, I have a HCP (Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit) and it is valid in approx 38 or 39 other states, and I am usually carrying concealed. To me, this is the most efficient way to have it if you would need it....not trying to get it out of a safe or locked box of some sort. At night (bedtime), it is laying on a table beside the bed. As a note, we have no children with us and so keeping it up and out of the way or locked is not an issue for us. My wife also has a HCP, so either one or both of us can legally carry in TN and the other 38 states as long as we know and abide by that state's laws. It is sometimes tricky at best, to keep up with other states changing laws, so before a trip to a state that is other than our own, I usually check my phone app (CCW) available in the Google Play store, make sure it is updated, then check for the state or state that we will go through or stay in. I've never really thought too much about a safe for the trailer, but having one bolted down to the floor sure would be nice at times.

Nope, only 1...locked

I unlocked to add this:

I received a PM asking why I locked it. My response was the OP received 2 links for the information he was looking for. As I have said before, these seem to become “I have...I do....” threads and because there isn’t a “standard” law that applies to the entire US, it may not apply to the OP.
