Been a full press getting ours ready this year with the crappy weather:

- New springs (correct 25-1/4"length this time, not 26")
- New wet bolts with Lippert Never Fail bushings in all but the three in the equalizers
- Replumbed the disc brakes but due to time, used some Kodiak hoses instead of hard lines
- - Added a handrail to the stairs. I made it up from 1x3 oak and a commercial teak 4 loop marine rail.
- Installed a Fabulous exhaust fan
- Washed it - roof, sides and belly
- Dewinterized
- Installed a Camco HW heater drain with petcoc k
- Added a 3" memory foam bed topper.
- Built and installed a spice rack for my DW

Yet to do - have materials:
- Install supplemental rear fridge fans (assembly made up)
- Block the washer feed lines off (don't have one)
- Fix a ding in the wall and install a covering border
- 303 the slide seals
- Polish

I NEED a rest

Dave, with all that cleaning, shining and waxing, it's time to make a decision: Do you leave it parked so it won't get dirty or do you get it dirty by dragging it someplace to enjoy it..... I'd vote for taking the weekend, getting it dirty and enjoying some relaxing RV'ing. You've earned the rest !!!

John - next Thursday it heads to our Lake Champlain CG until mid-August. Then it goes on the road for 5-7 weeks through Ontario, MI's UP, WI, MN, ND, maybe as far as ID, back to Champlain for 2-3 weeks then off to PA, VA and possibly NC. Of course this is pending my DWs nagging back problem. If that's flaring up, then it will 'only' be NH, ME, NB, NS and/or PEI. I then can say it does get down and dirty!

I relax after Thursday

So last year the South Florida heat got me trying to figure ways to keep it cool inside. Adding secondary black-out curtains to the sliding glass door (Fuzion FZ420 w/side patio), non-windy days keeping awnings out for the morning to afternoon, etc. So one idea was adding reflection bubble foil to the large garage windows. I found at Lowe's it was not too expensive and the roll I got took care of all garage windows plus small curb side front bedroom window. Since that bedroom window faces East and the awning won't cover it. In the garage I needed 2 pcs side by side to fill such huge windows. So I used AC duct foil tape to seam them into 1pc. Had that foil tape left over from when I fixed the poor quality AC duct work issue in this RV.
Garage stays cooler but let's little light in.
Not sure if it's going to make a dramatic difference in the bedroom yet.
May add those Slow Rise brand shades in the large hallway window.
And the GF is making a black-out curtain for the useless heat magnifier (oval window) above the entry door.

Nothing exciting for me. Getting ready for a long weekend, so I checked the tires (all a bit low) and wheel nut torque (just one nut a bit loose). Had to buy a new torque wrench, my old one only goes up to 100 ft/lbs. I also gave it a good wash, lubricated the hitch and tied down the TVs so they won’t flop around on the mounts.

Finally fixed my In Command issue with the hydraulic slide outs in my 2017 Alpine 3660FL. Hardwired the sucker and deactivated the setting in the touch screen. No more stopping every 3" inches when extending.
Added an led light under wall cabinet and under sink.
Relocated the sink faucet to the center. Put a soap dispenser in it old place. Added several led lights throughout. Added two more return air grilles and a.c. vents...intalled Sailun tires... etc....

I had been considering the Andersen Jack Blocks:

Amazon Link To Andersen Jack Blocks

The Andersen blocks use magnets so they just snap on to the bottom of the jack pads, but they are not permanent and with the bright red color they look like roadside warning signs Plus they are about 100 bucks more expensive than the snap pads. The one nice thing the Andersen blocks have is a bit more height so you don’t need to extend the jacks quite as far when you are leveling.

Decisions, decisions

Hey John, The problem I would have with the "higher" Anderson Blocks is when you engage "Auto Level" the front of my fifthwheel dips down quite a bit and would hindered with the higher blocks.

Today we restrung one of the pleated shades that we have put off for a year. Watched a YouTube video and figured if he could do it, we could do it and we DID IT..we have a Keystone 311/2 ft x- lite rear living room. We are newbies on this site but not to RVing and this is the second Keystone we have had. The next problem to tackle is the awning, looks like the motor needs replace $$$...we have checked switches and connectors and fuses and they all seem OK unless there is another fuse someplace..any suggestions would be most helpful..

Installed the MORryde “StepAbove” steps on our Avalanche today. Fairly easy to install and MUCH better than our pull-out OEM steps not only for us, but for our aging dog as well. I’ll be replacing the old pull-out steps with their storage box as well. Never can have enough storage on a RV

Also purchased the “Snap Pads” for our LCI LevelUp hydraulic levelers and will be getting those put on soon.

Last Friday I had the China Bombs removed and had a set of Goodyear Endurance tires installed. Went from load range c to d. I posted this in an existing thread in the tire section, but wanted to post it here also.

Having rear stabilizer jacks installed seems like the bearings went out on them. Lucky for me they are covered by my extended warranty coverage.
