Strange noise

Just returned from a two week trip and heard an unusual noise coming from the area of the oven, residential fridge or breaker panel.
It sounds almost like arching or relay chatter but there was no disruption in the power or lights. It only happened four times and we were in different parks each time. I have a hard wired Progressive power monitor and it did not show any faults.

I’m picking up my Alpine in a week. I’m interested in hearing what you find out.

I have about 15000 miles on this unit and have never heard the sound before. It only last about 3 or 4 seconds so it is hard to pinpoint.

Just a SWAG, but have you checked the fan on the converter for dust, dirt or maybe pet hair?

This is a bigger WAG than John's. Could it have been the gas igniter on the propane side of the fridge randomly firing?

I think the 3401 has a residential refrigerator. Here's another WAG (this one isn't scientific)... Could it possibly be the ice maker?

One WAG deserves another WAG. Is the hatch on your stove hood battened down? If its loose the wind will catch it.

WAG = Wild A@# Guess.

If yours has a surge protection device, a couple minutes after hooking up to a CG power pedestal, a relay will clank when locking in

I will check the fan on the converter. No pets so no pet hair but fan could be loose.
Don't think it is the converter relay as it has only happened after being plugged in for a while and there is no disruption in power.
I have the ice maker turned off. That was my first thought.
Grimlins?

Maybe one of Crazy Cain's ghosts is looking for new digs? I'd watch my adult beverage stock if I were you.

Another but this time it is a "SWAG"
I think the cooling fan in the voltage converter is going out.

Do you have a generator or is your rig prepped for one? If so, it could be your transfer switch and one of the relays are chattering. If you have a transfer switch, I would removed power from the rig, open it up and make sure all the wires are tight and there is no arching.

I don't have a generator or prep. There is a transfer switch in the inverter but it is located in the front storage and the sound seems to be coming from an area closer to the middle of the trailer.
I will check it out anyway. Thanks.

Since your overhead vent fan is about in that area is the electric door vent motor chattering or perhaps the fan?

A poster on the Montana Owner's forum just reported that the propane auto changeover regulator was the source of a strange clunking noise. If yours is a Fairview regulator (low end junk IMO), that my also be the source
