Folding ladder on New Fuzions
Hi,
I currently own a 2013 342 Fuzion with a removable ladder. I have noticed that the new models have a collapsable or folding ladder. Does anyone know if these ladders are sold separately by some company. Thanks
Dave

Have you looked at these new ladders up close? I have not, but just from looking at pictures it would appear the mounts are different and probably not in the same locations as the old. I know it could be made to work, but it just depends on how far you want to go with it. It certainly doesn't look like its going to be as easy to take old one off and put new one on. If you find out post up. I wouldn't mind changing mine out on my 342, but its not real high up on the list at this time.

Also thought about changing out my ladder to the new collapsible one. Dealer stated that mounts are at different locations on the rig. Old mounts would have to be removed , holes patched, new holes drilled to match mounts on the new collapsible ladder.

I was thinking I might be able to leave the original brackets as they are and drill/install the new ones as required. I do not know if this would be possible

I was thinking the same thing mount the brackets in the existing holes. then re drill the ladder to fit. Add the the top bracket you would not need to re drill that one just drill the camper. Done deal just don't have 550 bucks to do it yet.
Maybe I will just trade it in on a new one. LOL then i could get the auto level as well.

My carbon has one of these folding ladders, it doesn't feel any better climbing it! Only advantage I see is that I don't have to remove it to open the rear cargo door.

Why would you have to remove the side ladder to open the rear door? I think most would want the folding ladder for ease of travel rather than the stability of using it.

you don't, I was referring to other models that have the ladder hanging on the back of the rv so you have to remove it prior to opening the rear cargo door. My father has a cross terrain and everytime he loads/unloads he needs to take the ladder off.

smittysrv; you may recall we had an older tread discussing this ladder on a wide body Raptor. One option was to buy 4 mounting brackets and installing them on the back ramp. Ladder would be moved from side to back for traveling. If I recall one member actually used the ladder in that location to get up onto the roof. I have purchased the brackets but have yet to put them on. It is a pain storing this ladder in the garage while traveling !!!!!!
