I think I've got it all figured out.

Wow, now that's some planning! Do you have a "SUNPASS" for the turnpike? Makes life much easier at toll plazas.

Now this is my kind of vacation. If we leave today, we'll get there, "someday" if we leave tomorrow, "well, that's OK too"

When are we coming back? Probably when we get tired of staying there, but if it's raining we might wait a day or two.

What will we do? That depends on how we feel when we wake up. If it's raining, maybe we'll change plans, if it's not raining, maybe we'll decide to do what we planned, but then, maybe we won't feel like it. We'll see.

Isn't that why we drag the bedroom and the bathroom with us? LOL

As long as there's a "cool one" in the fridge, it'll work out somehow

You will save substanially with the SunPass. If you don't have time to sign up via internet and have one mailed to you, you can pick one up in person at one of the FL Turnpike Service Plazas.

I just purchased the SunPass online. I hope that it arrives before my departure. I have all of my account information and my receipt just in case though. How long does it take for it to typically arrive?
I certainly do appreciate all of the input. Your thoughts and traveling wisdom have greatly helped me put my itinerary together, not to mention y'all must also bare part of the blame for this last minute decision to even take this trip. Those sure where some nice looking pictures. Lol!

Good suggestions from all. Also just south of the seven mile bridge marker 39, there is station that's very easy in and out. It's at sunshine key both diesel and gas. Have been in there a few times. Have a good trip.

80 miles out

I hope that you caught a lot of fish I used to go out 80-100 miles on a 28 foot Bertram and spend the night. One morning when we got up there were bales of something wrapped in plastic. As a member of the Coast Guard Aux. we called it in to a USG station. They them picked it up. We did not catch any Fish that trip but got some GOOD stuff any way and the Coast Guard paid for the Fuel. Great trip any way.

David, when are you headed to the keys? We will be at Long Key State Park Jan 29th till Feb 12th. Any questions ask away, If I don't have the answer someone will. Reguarding the sunpass, If you don't receive it before you leave, check the sunpass web site, there are stores you can pick one up. You can then call into them to load it up before you hit the turnpike. They charge a small fee in addition to the toll to bill by plate. For $5 you can buy a stick to your windshield sunpass and when you charge it up they credit you the $5

I am heading down the day after Christmas. I lost my father back in July and thought that this would be a good trip for my mother to take. I bought the SunPass this morning. I hope it arrives before I leave home. I have all of my account information, I suppose that I could stop at one of the offices on the turnpike if it doesn't.
