Our Cougar has about the same front cap as the 29RES. Our Ram short bed is set up with an Anderson hitch.
We have made a "U" turn around the entrance station at Tumalo State Park near Bend OR. That one was TIGHT!
Also have made several "U" turns at 4 lane intersections with no problems.

In the short beds, as I understand a "slider hitch" is needed to make tight turns for backing and city driving.
I installed a Curtis Slider on my F250. It has a manual activation. At a recent campsite the neighbor showed me his "automatic slider". Both are designed to move the hitch point towards the back of the truck and allow clearance for the trailer to turn. You have a lot of room without the slider, but when the trailer decides it wants to be part of the family in the cab, that's your trigger point.
