295bh furnace

Hello,

I tried finding information about a sf-30f furnace making a squeeling noise, and how to fix it. But I did not find what I was looking for. So I will start a new thread. If you know of a thread discussing this, please comment the link below, Thank you.

So anyways, as I stated above, I have a 2001 295bh with a sf-30f furnace, and just last night it started making a really loud, high pitch noise. I did some lite reading and have come up with two solutions.
1) WD-40 the fan inside the furnace, or
2) replace the entire unit.

Since the RV is almost 17 years old, I'm thinking of just replacing it. I found the exact same one for sale that is currently inside my RV, but it's almost $600. I found a newer, and cheaper, sf-35fq for $300+\-. My question is, with that work in my RV? According to another website l looked at, they are the exact same dimensions. But I'm wondering if I need to do anything else, beside pull out the old unit and swap it out with the new one.

Any advice or feedback will be very much appreciated. Thank you again.

If my brain is in gear this evening the 30 is 30,000 BTU, so the 35 would be an improvement at 35,000 BTU. The thing about RV furnaces is you need to know how the unit sits, vertical vs. horizontal. And how the vents are configured. Since the dimensions are pretty much exact, you may very well be able to put the “guts” of the replacement unit into the “shell” of the old unit.

You're brain is indeed in gear haha thank you very much for the reply. I was thinking that it would be as simple as pulling out the old and putting in the new, I just wanted to check with some of you experts

You've asked a question that has multiple answers.....

First, your furnace is a 2001 model, which means it's already 17+ years old. That brings up the question, "What else is about to go?"

That said, you can purchase a new motor (complete with all the bearings that are squealing) for $90 at this website: https://pdxrvwholesale.com/products/...12-volt-233101 Any other parts you might need are available at this link: https://pdxrvwholesale.com/products/...0f-tune-up-kit

Now, only you can decide whether the rest of the furnace is in a condition that would warrant replacing the motor or if you'd be better off buying a new furnace and installing it. Keep in mind that a 17 year old firebox/plenum may give you another 10 years of service or may fail as soon as you turn on the furnace with the new "non-squealing" motor.....

Anyway, the parts you need to repair your current furnace are still available, but only you can decide whether it's cost effective to replace parts or install a new furnace.

So I think I figured out the issue. I refilled the propane tanks, and then turned on the furnace, no more noise. Weird.

I didn’t want to jinx it with my last post, but I had a feeling.
