One of the comments under the LR E tire at WalMart says ordering online is the way to go and they got some Carlisles that were only a few weeks old when they ordered them on line, vs in the store which was much more negative. DT did confirm today they would mount/balance anything I bring in.
Buy them online and be done with it. Mine came into my "Neighborhood Grocery" in 2 days since it was closer than driving across town to the Super Wmart. They were somewhere around 2-3 months old, there's a post somewhere here from earlier this year with all the info. Took them to a tire shop previously chosen and had them mounted, balanced and installed for $8 apiece if I recall. Pleased with the whole operation, happy with the tires, no muss, no fuss, no dickering, in and out and on my way to do more fun things.

Awesome, great to hear it. I think I am going to pull it and just order them online from Wally World. Will decide on the mounting/balancing later. Then I can put them on myself to make sure they are torqued correctly and not have to haul my rig up there.

I just bought the E's at Wal-Mart and had them mounted at DT for $16 each. Also bought their road hazard package since they were new tires. DT wouldn't match Wal-Mart but would come down to $96. YMMV.

I had purchased 5 Carlisle HD 235/80R16 through Walmart, with local pickup for $385. My local tire dealer installed them for $150. Sold the take-offs on Craigslist, which only had about 300 miles on them, within a few days of returning from our 3 week trip for $250. In the end I only paid $285 for new tires and piece of mind. They're great tires.
