Greetings from Missoula MT

I started lurking around the forum and figured I better join and introduce myself. Last year my husband and I bought a new 2015 Keystone hideout 27' travel trailer. We weren't planning on purchasing a new camper at all, but instead wanted to refurbish an old '96 Dutchman bumper pull. After purchasing the old camper, putting a new floor and repairing some other small fixtures. It burned to the ground at 1:30 am in our second night in it due to an electrical failure behind the fridge. It was the most horrible incident I've had. That trailer burned up hot and quick!

With that event now in the rear view window we both love our new trailer and have camped in it over 60+ days last year. I'm still very creeped out sleeping in it but overall my nerves are starting to calm slowly with the thought of waking up to another fire. Plus we carry an extra fire extinguisher. Hopefully if it doesn't happen again to us, we may be able to save someone elses.

This year we plan on traveling to Yellowstone National Park, down the Lochsa for a white water rafting float trip, up to Swan and Flathead lake, and taking it on several hunting trips this fall with one of them being for two weeks in November. Pretty excited to have a fun and safe summer!

to the forum and congrats on the new rig! Sorry to hear about the fire experience. I know that can be unnerving. In time it will get better and you won't be creeped out sleeping at night. Night and day between a new trailer and a 20 year old "rebuilt" trailer. Good luck and have some great fun.

Sorry for you mishap.
Enjoy the new addition. Welcome.
We will be at Placid Lake camping with Patti's Sister and her family in August.
Sure do love Montana. Spent several years in Livingston from 70 to mid 82.

My aunt and uncle got a few cabins on Placid. It's a very beautiful lake! Had lots of fun visiting them and seeing all the painted faces on the stumps
