My gray/black tanks were listed as 40 Gallons each in the spec sheet. Here's the true story:

It is a common spec listing practice to say 26 Gal Fresh Water.
Technically the tell the truth… FW Tank and HW Tank both contain Fresh Water.
They use FW tank capacity + HW tank capacity for total Fresh Water capacity.
HW tanks are 6 - 11 gal depending on model.
You not the first to scratch their head and not understand this math and way of selling an RV.
^^^ This !!!

You'll find "fresh water capacity" (not fresh water tank capacity) in the specifications on most any trailer website and in all the brochures... That's all the manufacturer specifies: Fresh water capacity....

Why ??? To give a buyer some idea of water weight, not some idea of water tank capacity. We've all "grown to believe what we want the specs to say, not what they really say".... It's sort of like a new Mustang with 160MPH on the speedometer. Does that mean it'll really go 160MPH???

Now, if you go to the front right corner of your trailer and look at the "certification label" located there, it will give you the total weight of the water, in "COLD water and HOT water" weights. Combined, they should equal "FRESH water capacity"...

The "purpose of including water weight (not gallons) is to determine axle capacity, GVWR and Payload capacity, not "how long can I shower"... We "extrapolate that shower length based on trailer GVWR calculations". While it MIGHT have some bearing on tank size, that's not the purpose of the "fresh water capacity" specification.....

Here's an example of the certification decal:

Skids - i have been searching for a pump like you mentioned. I spill as much as i get in the tank with a 5-gallon jug! Please advise the manufacturer and model of your pump if you can.

Mine seems to be the opposite. Spec sheet says 45 gallon fresh water. I haul water in my truck to camp with a 55 gallon drum. The trailer was low on water but not empty. I managed to pump about 45-50 gallons into it yesterday.
