Who do you know now?

How many of you gals and guys have ran into another member here and was it mostly by chance or did you arrange to be somewhere and make a blind camping trip out of it?
How did it work out? Was there enough common interests between ya'll to make for a great camping arrangement.

I ask because I throw caution to the wind most of the time in my life and fear or consider the worst case scenarios.

All In all I do enjoy being very social and enjoy meeting new people. And to "run into" a website member would be pretty cool.

Does this site have a decal or cling or bumper sticker that would be a symbol somewhere on our rigs to Identify us as Keystone RV Forum regulars? If so where do we order them? If Not How do most of you feel about a small tag?

Brenda and I met and had lunch with Sourdough (Danny) and his lovely bride Susan a few weeks ago in Tallahassee. We would be glad to drive out of our way to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with any of the members on this site. Just ask and it's a done deal.
Edit: Presently located in Clewiston, Florida at the Okeechobee RV Park.

One way to make this happen is to post where you are going, when that will be, and that you'd love to meet up if it works.

Maybe we need a separate section for members to post this to make it easier.

Very often, when we see another Keystone family member at a campsite, we'll introduce ourselves and then discuss our trailers. I usually ask if they are members of the forum; amazingly, not one yet has known of it - but they do now.

I like the sticker idea. Maybe there could be a contest judged by the moderators, then someone would have to figure out how to get them printed. Is there a web-based outfit that would do this on demand? That would eliminate any up-front costs for anyone.

Just saw CTBruce's post; that's a good idea, too.

Who do you know now?

I have also asked a lot of Keystone owners if they know about the forum. I’ve yet to find someone that did before I told them. Let’s all keep the word going and sooner or later we’ll start running into other members. I like the sticker idea too.

As far as the Sticker, We did this with our Dodge truck club. It was best considered to give the group a name. This way it didn't look like we wanted people to check out a Dodge web site. We were the New Jersey Rams on our Decal. Of course with the website.

For instance we could do something in the lines of "The Keystone Nomads" www.keystoneforums.com. With a crafty design on a "bumper sticker" that gets placed on the front tongue section so it can be seen by campground walkers would be a great way to find a fellow web siters or get someone asking that has a Keystone product. Who knows?

Just for grins I did a quick web search for bumper sticker printing. There is a local shop (closed for holidays) which I can check out, but another on-line firm had 4 color/UV-resistant 4 mil came out to be anywhere from $0.60 each for 100 6"X3" to $0.98 each for 100 9"X3" or 100 11"X3" (prices include the printing and shipping; not sure about tax). No one I spotted does individual on-demand printing (minimum quantities are required). Then whomever decides to manage the process will have to add the cost of their shipping (maybe $1 for postage and a rigid shipping envelope). Who knows what local business codes require (a license, etc?) so some investigation would be required on that end, which might bump the price per sticker up more.

Not that I'm volunteering ... I was just curious as to what it would cost.

Earlzach, what was your experience with this?

We had window decals $5.00 each but for this to work out I think a bumper sticker on the front tow rail door side would be a prime location to find site friends or attract the buzz.. Just need something that identifies and shows the web address. Plies something universal that we all don't mind puting on out trailers.

Group decals, In the other group (other brand) we belonged they had a club decal that was placed on the front and rear of the RV depicting the club name Logo and members #. this was a fast way of identifying the group members, even on the road could be identified.
In Waco tx there is a sign co. that can make or reproduce decals for rv's

Also before adding "Keystone" or the web address to the decal/sticker you'll need permission from both to be legal.

If we don't use any trademark fonts the word Keystone should not be trademarked. As far as web address can a moderator inquire?.

Requests for custom stickers that include member names are complicated becuase it's not practical to mass produce stickers but there is a good solution available that is relatively inexpensive.

At another site I am involved with members make their own via www.makestickers.com.

They settled on an oval of a certain size and each order their own. This is the oval they use: http://www.makestickers.com/customize.aspx?tid=7689 but there are others to be chosen from.

They use the same basic design but customize the top portion to include their names or other info. They make them in a variety of colors and one sticker costs about $10.00

Members can each have their own sticker made and even customize it as needed.

Here is the link to make a text based sticker:
http://www.makestickers.com/customize.aspx?tid=7689

Here is a link if you want to add a custom design in the center:
https://www.makestickers.com/customize.aspx?tid=8972

I could get copy of the forum logo and add it to this thread to be used on a sticker and then members could add their user names of other info around the edge.

If we can get Janet to post the original forum logo for us to use, we can get decals (6" x 9") like this sample made at that link. Each person would have to order their own decals. One for 9.97, two for $13.88 or five for $21.07 (I wouldn't think anyone would need more than five, but larger quantities are available.

NOTE: The arch doesn't show up on the "white on white" decal, but that can be easily fixed with photoshop... The logo is located in the upper banner on the left hand side.
