When I purchased my truck I had one put on each side of the bed. At the time bed steps were a factory option on the 150 but not the Superduty.
Call it an old man step or one for the vertically challenged whatever you want they help getting things in and out of the bed. It has a 300# capacity both my wife and I are under 200#. The one on the right side broke the other day while unloading from a camping trip. The step pad which is plastic came off the aluminium mount. It is held on by 3 screws that are only supposed to be torqued to 5FT/ LBS, upon inspection the plastic fractured where the screws go in. I checked the left step and 2 of the 3 screws spin freely and don't tighten up. In the 3.5 years and 17000 miles I have put on the truck both steps have probably been used about 100 times.
The place where I had them installed has an Email to Amp research to see if I can get a warranty replacement.
I was wondering if any one has had the same thing happen to them
