Black Water Tank
I recently purchased a 2009 Montana 3400RL to live in full time, not travel with. I've looked all over the place to find the black water tank gauge and am having zero luck. The previous owners lived in it while their house was being built and had the unit connected directly to their septic system so they're of little help here. Will someone please help me?

Welcome to the forum!!
All the tank levels should be displayed in the same place. Have you found the panel with the fresh and gray tank level indicators?

I have had no luck finding any panels save for the breaker control located with the commode.
Are these gauges outside? Unfortunately, I'm not home right now, so my responses are not in real time.

No worries. The monitor panel will be inside the coach. Popular places are the kitchen or hallway leading up to the bedroom. It’s possible that it’s behind a cabinet door. I’m not familiar with that floor plan so I can’t give you a specific location.

Here is a link to a YouTube video of what appears to be your unit it clearly shows the tank level monitor on the left side of the stairs. Not to say they don't move them from unit to unit this might help.

Thank you very much! I have completely overlooked that panel but to make sure that I keep the propane turned on for the water heater. Lordie, talk about tunnel vision.

As far as being of any use to you for tank levels you'll be overlooking them all the time. When you push the buttons corresponding to each tank it will show pretty red lights which mean the lights work, but will tell you absolutely nothing about tank levels, especially the black.

Hate to disagree, but with proper care, the sensors can be accurate. If they aren’t reading correctly, it can be a bit of work to get them working again.
EVERY unit that I have worked on with a customer complaint that black tank reads 2/3 or full when empty, I have been able to get working correctly without changing sensors.

I'm with Chuckster on this. Mine are accurate enough. I do understand though that these are NOT hyper accurate devices in the first place. They're just guide posts good enough to give you an idea what may be happening in an area where you can't see.
