Passport is sold - mixed feelings
We sold our Passport this week. Its been a great camper and I hope the people who bought it have as much fun as we have. So, now its time for something new. I've been looking at bullets, Premiers, Passports, and other Keystone products. Not a FR fan per se. I will say, I have been looking at the Imagine 2500RL by Grand Design. They are more money, but the seem really well built as far as trailers go. We are looking for rear living and this seems to have the nicest floor plan. SO, if the price is right. I guess my mixed feelings about selling the Passport will pass.
Only thing I'll say I'm unhappy with on the Passport is the latching/locking mechanisms on the storage doors. Every damn one of them has leaked causing the doors to soften to an extent. 2 years ago, I took everyone out and caulked the opening prior to reinstalling. Didn't really make any difference. They started about 2 years after purchasing. You can't see it from the exterior, but if you know what you're looking for, its there when you open them. In the 5 years we've owned it, I also never noticed how poorly the front passthrough door opening was cut out. In some spots, the lip of the door frame is only 1/8" overlap. Hasn't ever leaked or given any issue, and probably never will as long as the caulking is maintained.
