Ram 3500 DRW vs GM 2500? on the Ike
Well this is a very interesting video, GM test truck was labeled 2500, but has a GVWR of 11,300# really making it a 3500 SRW.

GVWR is 11,300#, Payload likely in the 3,300 to 3,700# range.

I'ma betting man that the new "3/4" ton GM's will come in a several choices of GVWR's that the person ordering chooses. Just as Ford has done with the 350 SRW. This way the "commercial guys" can skip the scales and licensing fees and the joe blow towing his RV can feel more comfortable he has the payload that the 10,000 GVWR 3/4 tons have actually had for the last several years without the lawyers chasing him. Gotta play Uncle Sam's game dontcha know.

What read, is that all basic combos of GM HD trucks will be capable of 30,000 plus.

Just keep in mind that is PULLING not CARRYING! GVWR and AXLE ratings cover that.

The comparison between the 2 trucks was really more about the drivetrain/engine/transmission and not the suspension. What that video told me, is that the new GM HD platform can hold its own and run with the other 2 which is really not that surprising.

I agree, interesting how the 3.42’s with the 10 speed, imparted to 4.10’s and 6 speed. It would be nice if they were smart enough to skip the lower gears when running in loaded. With the old 2001 with 5 speed manual, I never used 1st except when towing.
