Puck ceiling led lighting

Greetings from a 2018 26RBPR owner. The puck lights in the ceiling are too bright and I want to change them. How do I get the covers off and what is the correct bulb to install to get a warmer and less bright environment? I appreciate your reply’s and assistance.

If your puck lights are like ours (and they probably are) good luck getting the covers off! I tried it and was worried I was going to damage the light fixture. I assume they either snap or twist off, but wasn't successful myself.
Having said that, from what I could see of those lights, the LEDs are not replaceable. My guess is they're also not dimmable. You have to have the special dimmable LEDs to use a dimmer with them.
Sorry, that wasn't much help I know, but if you find out how to get the covers off them, please let me know too.

I can't answer your specific question, but had the same issue with my old Cougar 32RLI. The overhead LED lights were so bright that I never used them. I began looking into an LED dimmer switch (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/Facon-Dimmer-...+dimmer+switch), but never took it any further.

My new Cougar 34TSB (on order) has the dimmer control already installed.

If your puck lights are the same as mine, they unscrew counter-clockwise. As far as replacement bulbs, sorry no help here.

My puck lights each have two spring-loaded legs that hold the light onto the ceiling. I simply pulled downward on them until they cleared the hole in the ceiling. I was then able to grip and twist the glass cover off. I cleaned the glass, then squeezed the metal legs inward and pushed them back into the ceiling hole. YMMV.

The mushroom shaped lens will twist off - 1/4 turn counter-clock-wise.
The LED light is integral. No replaceable "bulb" or "lamp". How many lights are activated by your "ceiling lights" switch? If the lights are too bright for your taste, you might try replacing some of the ceiling lights with lights that have a built in switch. That way you can turn on the ceiling light switch and then turn off some of the lights in that string individually until you get to the level of illumination that you desire. I wanted to add a light under our curio cabinet to illuminate the switch panel. I was able to find a light that matched all the others in the trailer, but has a switch located under the center of the lens. Push on - push off. I believe I found the lights at Tekwood.

The lens cover just twists off. It can be hard to get it off. But there is no "bulb" to replace it is just some LEDs. You would have to replace the whole light.

This is what I did on mine. Replaced all the lights in the Couch/Dinette Slide with ones that have the push button in the middle. Now we can adjust the lighting to have as much or as little light as we need. Found the lights at Trekwood.

Not sure exactly what LED lights OP is talking about. Mine are round puck looking lights with a pushbutton in the middle. Some are connected to a second wall switch, some are not. As mentioned, there is no single bulb but a small panel of LEDs and they are bright. I was able to successfully install a modulating dimmer inline with the power wire. Now have near total control of the brightness.
I mention because someone said would have to install dimmable LEDs. No expert here, but the modulating dimmers seem to work on mine and I don't notice any flickering or undesirable effects and love the ability to adjust.

I used these. https://www.amazon.com/FAVOLCANO-12V...n%3A5908608011 They seemed cheaper than many and turn all the way off. I just cut the plugs off the ends and wired directly inline

I had the same problem with the lights being too bight. I added this little remote control dimmer and it works very well.

I installed mine in the ceiling above one of the lights. You will have to find out which light is first in the string and install it there. Another option would be to install it at the InCommand system where the wires feed the lamps. The only issue with this method may be the range of the remote control. The wires are labeled so you can pull one of the lamps down and check the numbers and then find them on the InCommand panel.

We also hated the ceiling lights being too bright and all turning on with one switch. I ended up installing LED strips on the top of both slides and installing a switch/dimmer to them. We use them 90% of the time instead of the puck lights. Hard to get a good picture of the lighting, but you get the idea. With both on full, it throws plenty of light and dimmed down, it gives a nice glow for early morning or watching TV.

To the person wanting to replace his LED lamps for being to bright. We had same issue in our 2018 Cougar Xlite. I purchased a 12volt dimmer knob on amazon and wired it in between the light and the switch, drilled a hole in the main panel of switches and now I have dimmable LED lighting throughout. It is by far the best add on to our trailer. If you haven't already figured it out, message me and I can get you specifics and pictures. Hope this helps.

I just purchased these,
Dream Lighting 4.5" Warm White Cabin Lighting Fixture - 3.8W LED Ceiling Light Pack of 6 for $39.99 on Amazon. They're the same brand and size except they're the 'Warm' instead of 'Cool' light. Hopefully they are much dimmer.

In our Outback each of the ceiling lights are individually switched as well as one switch that turns them all on/off. We use the separate switches to light just what we want. There was one particularly annoying light over the bed which was very bright. A couple of strips of blue painters tape took the brightness away and left a soft blue light - ugly but it worked.

We found the same in our Bullet 265, my plan is to put blue cellophane in some of the lens’s. The cellophane must be heat rated so it doesn’t melt and worse start a fire. We live in Vancouver and going to go to commercial lighting rental house for movie productions and try to procure. They have every color in the rainbow if we can find a vendor. Bulbs in ours are not changeable so it’s this or change out the fixtures as suggested above. We’ve spent enough buying this rig so looking to be creative on this one.

Which LED strips did you use? I have had good luck with some of the 16' rolls of 5050 LEDs in other applications. My issue in this trailer is my pucks aren't bright enough (halogen to LED lamp conversions). So I want some bright strip lighting then can dim to our liking.
