Upfitter switch

I have an idea and would like to se what you guys think of it. I have upfitter (auxiliary) switches in my truck. I have a Furrion camera that runs on my running light circuit. I was thinking I could tap into the running lights on the 5th wheel and run them from the upfitter switch to activate the camera. I know I can just turn on the lights but I have a habit of not turning them off. The switch is key controlled. I am wondering if this would cause back feed in the circuit and not work as I envision it.
Let me know what you think.
