Finally headed out with the new rig for a summer of camp hosting in Maine. Still working on fixing it up just how I like it but so far I am enjoying it!Click image for larger version

I just picked up a 2018 22RBSWE. We really like the layout and overall value. First outing this week. I’m still going through getting everything looked at and straight in my mind. This is our first trailer, though we have had a pop trailer, a slide on camper and camped in various motor homes.

I do have one minor question. How do you turn on the docking lights (I assume that’s what they are) that are built into the front cap? I can’t seem to find a switch anywhere.

Thanks
H

The switch for ours is in the passthrough storage area on the front wall with the switches for the stabilizing jacks.

Hmmm.. Stabilizer jack switches on ours are on the outside just forward of the pass through doors. I’ll look again.
Thanks

Found it, the switch is on the cap tucked away in the battery cove above the batteries. Always amazes me how they vary certain things in production.

Has anyone installed a backup camera to prewired setup at the back?

Been dealing with a few new issues in the past few days. The AC was making an annoying rythmic sound. After a couple of dozen trips up and down on the roof ladder I isolated it to the fan motor vibrating. A small piece of foam in the right location has solved the problem for now.

The other issue was hearing the little pitter patter of something running around in the ceiling. Probably a little chipmunk as they are everywhere here. The only place I could see that could possibly be an access to the ceiling is under the front of the trailer. It appears that they can get into the front and crawl up under the cap and get to the ceiling. Some insulation stuffed into the voids and then some expanding foam spray sealed it all up.

I spent the afternoon crawling around underneath and sealing up every little nook and cranny, every hole, crack, and slit in the underbelly. Went through two cans of spray foam. I'm pretty confident that nothing can get in now unless they chew a hole in something!

Otherwise I am really enjoying the trailer. Love the kitchen layout and the shower is nice. Everything else is working fine. I'm living in the trailer full time this summer as a volunteer in a Maine State Park Campground. We have water and electric but no sewer so I have a macerator pump and a tote that I can use to empty the tanks when needed.

I ended up replacing my DC voltmeter with a different one which has shunt that I located in the battery box. Now I can see amps and watts being drawn from the battery.

bayite DC 6.5-100V 0-100A LCD... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013PKYILS?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

The first picture is the old meter. I just removed it and made the cutout bigger for the new one. The wires for the shunt run through the back of the upper cabinets and then down through the back of the sink cabinet and out into the underbelly through the hole where the water lines come up. Then just ran them up to the batteries.

I still have to clean up around the faceplate where I cut the hole. And I'll get two new 6 volt batteries in the spring to replace the one cheap 12 volt battery that they put in. Right now it's all closed up for the winter.Click image for larger version

Another project.

The water pump was jammed in the little cubby by the bed and it was a mess. So I moved it over under the bed and added a filter, surge tank, and a winterizing kit. I also added a sturdier hose connection on the outside for the city water.

As I went through all the plumbing in the trailer I also replaced the plastic pex elbows and couplings with brass ones.Click image for larger version

That rats nest of wires under the front of the trailer. Cleaned it all up and put all the breakers and connections inside a sealed box. Now they won't get all corroded and rust away.Click image for larger version

Under the bathroom sink I used the space where the power cord used to be stored and put the EMS on one side and made a nice little storage area instead of wasting all that space. Click image for larger version

I use a macerator pump to pump my tanks when needed. The only problem is that there was no place to plug it in. So I added a couple of 12 volt accessory plugs to give me some 12 volt power if I need it.Click image for larger version

I carry a macerator "just in case". I carry an empty DEF barrel in the truck, and also a 20 gal. fresh water tank and a little whizzer pump for when the trailer might need a bit of fresh water.I usually carry 10 gals. or so all the time. The empty DEF barrel, which came free of charge from the CO-OP next door to my shop and the water barrel add little weight, but does add peace of mind. I ran a wire feed back from the batteries to just above the dump valves.

Once, and only once, I had to pack up and move the trailer about 20 miles and back to empty the tanks. The closest RV dump had been vandalized and was shut down. I decided that wasn't going to happen again.
