electric dump valves

I have used the new dump valves several times on my winter trip to TX and they have worked great .. First time since 5er was new there was NO leakage at the dump outlet.. If I ever buy a new 5er it wont leave the shop with out them

Glad to hear they are working out well. Did you post pictures of the install?

Wow! For $1200+ I'll have to keep the cable pulls!!!
But to be honest I wouldn't lay under, remove coroplast & install them on anyones stinky tank but mine for the same price.

That’s why we charge big bucks. New guy gets the USED black tank valve change...right of passage LOL.

I have a Keystone Impact 361 which had dump valve issues since new. Took it back to the dealer 4 times within the first year for the same reason. On one of our trips I went to dump the black tank and the cable came out of the trailer. I could not close the black tank. The wife and I got the trailer back home and I ordered the electric dump valve. Once I got the belly pan open and saw what the dealer did, I was really pissed off. There was silicone everywhere. When I took the valve out the gaskets were doubled over. I found that the set screw for the cable was missing which led to the issue. Since I was working on one valve and had to loosen the grey water tank valve to get enough clearance I bought a second electric valve. Once I was done both work just fine and no more leaks or blockages. Since I did it myself, cost was around $450.00 and took about three hours start to finish.

Being able to do your own work is "worth its weight in gold"!! Your specific issues were more an imcompetent dealer and not a Keystone issue. Do you remember if the original valves were Bristol?

The original valves were Valterra. I replaced them with the electric version.

I think installing the tank labels backwards is a Keystone requirement!

remote controlled electric dump valves are great driving down the hwy on a cold raining night. ;-)

no do not do that.

with the way most of the T handles mount up, the electric valves can be great.

helps with arthritic hands.
or wet hands,
or on a very cold day.
mix all three and no dump till another day.

Always considered it a joy to crawl UNDER my slide to the back of the rear wheel on my 5ver to dump the galley valve. Late in the summer, I left it open for a 3 day weekend and ended up with tiny little annoying flies everywhere. And I already added the long handled extension so the handle comes out as far as it can. I am getting tooooo old to crawl under a dang trailer anyways.
