Wheel Hub

I am about to pull the wheels in order to check the breaks and bearing. I figured that if I need to change the breaks, I may as well change the hubs, so I did a search on internet to find out what it would cost. Surprise, I have not been able to find the hubs.

My axels are Dexter D44. The hubs are 6 on 5.5, with 10 inches x 2 ¼ breaks, E-Z lube. I did find hubs rated for 4,400 lbs axels, but none with E-Z lube marking.

Is-it the same hub with a different cap for E-Z lubes?

Thanks

About a 1/4 way down the page...

Specs:
  • Application: 4,400-lb E-Z Lube trailer axles with #84 spindles
    • Compatible with standard axles from most manufacturers, including Dexter, Lippert (LCI), and AL-KO
  • Actual drum dimensions: 10-15/16" diameter x 2-5/8" wide
    • Works with 10" brake assembly

I checked your previous link very quickly while eating and did not read all the way down like I should have.

Anyway, I now have what I need.

Thanks again

We replace brakes (backing plate assemblies) without replacing the drums a lot. As long as the magnet surface is smooth, brake friction surface is smooth and within max diameter specs, it's good to go. We also look at the bearing races, and unless they are heat checked or scarred we grease and go.

To each their own, but I think you may be spending more than you need to.
