Transfer switch

I am new to this forum. I have a 2012 Velocity Raptor. I have a question about the transfer switch on my coach I have heard that it is suppose to switch from shore power to generator automatically. If the shore power goes out and I turn the generator on, what happens if the shore power comes back on while the generator is running? I have heard the transfer switch could burn up. Anyone have any experience in this area?

Welcome to the forum
Your transfer switch “defaults” to generator. That means if it detects two sources it will choose gen over shore. It’s not a good idea to have both at the same time, but I haven’t heard of any burning up. If you lose shore power I would simply unplug to be sure.

Transfer switch

Hey Chuckster57. Thanks for the welcome. Thank you for the info also. I wanted to be sure I understood how it worked and you gave me want I needed. I am new to the toyhauler 5th wheel stuff. My camping knowledge is limited to a small Stero-Scotty trailer and tents. Lol. I have been reading everything I can get a hold of and this forum is a great place. Happy Camping brother.
