Two questions

We have a 2012 Keystone Montana 3400RL. It has the second air conditioner. Is this unit ducted or is the main outlet grill on the unit the only outlet? Second question. We had a little water on the floor in the bedroom at the base of the slide. It was between the closet and the bed. Looked at the slide rubbers and checked all calked joints. All were okay. Any help would be appreciated.

Two questions

Stopped at CW in Statesville, NC. The water problem is fixed. Hopefully there is no permament damage.

Still looking for answer to 2nd A/C unit. The literature says it is ducted. When I remove the cover I don't see any ducting and when I close the outlet on the unit, no air flow at the ceiling outlets.

2nd A/C unit

Previously had no luck with an answer to Two Questions. Fortunately, stopped at CW in Statesville, NC and they found the water leak.

Still have a question on 2nd A/C united. It says ducted. Took cover off and could see no evicence of duct work. Is this unit ducted or is the outlet on the unit the only way to operate it?

John, I have merged and moved your threads to this forum so more folks with similar trailers may see it.

Most likely your main A/C unit (living room) is ducted through the entire trailer. If you run this unit you should get air flow through all your ceiling vents. Your bedroom unit (optional) may in fact be able to be ducted but since it was added after the trailer was built is not. Having both units force air into same vents would not work. Perhaps someone with the same setup can advise you on how to best utilize it. Travel safely, Hank

Front "added air" would not be vented.

Alpine is a little different from Montana?? We have factory front air. Far as I can tell it is not ducted. Air only flows thru the vent on the unit. Main unit does blow air thru the roof vents in bedroom and bathroom.

We have a 3402RL and it came with two A/C's. Both are ducted and we have operated both at the same time with no problems as long as you have adequate power supply.

X2 with the rear ac, it is ducted clear to the front so therefore the front is not ducted to push the opposite direction

My 2nd air is not ducted. it dumps straight into the bedroom. The main unit ducts into the bathroom and bedroom.
The 2nd air is like those found in popups but it has 4 outlets, front and rear and both sides. it does have a straight down dump flow for quick cool and it works great with both units running to cool down the camper in the summer heat. It also helps cool the bathroom.

My Montana front and rear share the duct system. Both will blow air out of all ducts. Some are set up that way from the factory, some are not. If your unit was not set up for ducted install at the factory, then you will just have the front unit blow into the bedroom only.

I have a 2013 Alpine with factory installed 2nd unit and it is ducted. If I close off the large cooling vent on the unit itself it will force the air throughout the entire unit even with the #1-primary A/C off.

IMHO the bedroom A/C should not be ducted to the rest of the trailer nor should it be connected to the main thermostat.

Two A/C units sharing the same ductwork will not allow sufficient air flow to keep the units from icing up. Most RV ducts are not sized large enough for one A/C so two is out of the question. JM2˘, Hank

All I can say is my unit has both A/C's sharing the ductwork together and I seem to have no problems running either unit alone or simultaneously. I do however have a duel zone controller connected to two thermostats, one in the main living area and one in the bedroom. Mine is a 2013 Alpine 3600RS.

Mine works the same way. (2013 Montana 3402RL). The only difference is that I only have one thermostat but it controls both A/C units individually.
