Used superglide

I found a used model 2700 hitch for $650 and comes with the rails. Not sure for what brand of truck though. Any concerns on buying a used hitch? I think the 2700 is a 15k.

Don't know if that is a good price or not. We have a Superglide that we bought new and really like it. Using it over 5 years now.

$560 seems a little high for a used hitch. I think a new 2700 is around $1000. Offer $400? Be aware you will also need a kit to mount it to your truck, around $300. You will also need a capture plate to attach to your pin box. You may want to check me on those prices.

Check to see what condition the hitch is in. Take the hitch plate off (pull two pins to release). Look underneath. Operate the hitch plate a few times. Does it operate smoothly? Is the slot where the king pin fits, worn? Rust?

Turn the top back and forth a few times. As you turn it, it should move to the back of the hitch. Does it move smoothly?

The upper hitch slides on two silver tubes. The newer hitches have a tefflon plate that it slides on. The older ones have a thick layer of grease. Wipe some of the grease off. Are the silver tubes smooth? Should be.

Turn the hitch over. Use a flash light to look at the welds. Any cracks?

Bought a Superglide (4400) on C-List last summer - Paid $400.00 with super- rails but no truck mounting brackets. It had been used very little but had been stored outside. The only problem I found was the two small springs on the latch mec. had rust on them and the Pull-Rite decals were gone. I contacted Pull-Rite and they sent me new springs and decals (no charge). Great company.

I would try to get the price down.

If you have the 650..spend a little more and get a new pull rite superglide....have had one for 6 years with no trouble....also use the dry lube for it...no mess...I also have the super rail system for easy total removal from The bed of my truck...

I just recently paid $500 for the Superglide 2900 that fits the Industry Standard rails. It had only been used a couple of times. It had the rails but I needed the brackets for my 2011 F250. I ordered them from Dyers and it was cheaper to get the frame brackets and rails together than just get the brackets plus they had free shipping with the combo. Just make sure the Superglide is the newer model which has the Teflon plate where it slides back and forth against the two rails. I found several Superglides on Craigslist and all could be bought for around $500. I have just over $1000 in my setup and new would have been well over $2000. I think the place I had install the hitch wanted $2300 for the exact same setup installed.

I found one Superglide 18K that the owner wanted $1100 and I offered him $500 and told him that's what they sell for. He agreed to sell it to me for $500 but I found the one I bought which was like brand new so bought it. Felt bad I backed out but the one I bought was the same price and practically brand new. I did notify the guy I wasn't going to take the other one. I am also talking about the upper end of the Superglides for $500, 18K and up. I also have a good friend that bought one for $500 and it the 18K one but not the industry standard.

I had a used Reese 16k sliding hitch that the dealer "gave" me two years ago when we bought a larger fifth wheel and I needed more capacity. It did bang occasionally though.

Just bought a new Reese that fits the Ford factory pucks. What a difference. It's great.

The hitch sold quick. After thinking about it, the dealer I'm buying the trailer from quoted me $1350 for the 15k superslider and std rails installed with the trailer plate. I already had the std hitch worked into the deal so the difference and a new hitch sounds better to me.

I bought my 3300 16K Superglide for 450.00. It came with Superrails and everything for a Dodge. Barely used. I ordered a new Superrail kit from Tweetys for my GMC as they were about 200.00 cheaper than anyone around here. Installed it myself and its been a great hitch. My frerind is amazed that I can do a complete U turn right in front of my yard with a 36 foot trailer. Just got back from Pismo Beach. Hauled just over 4 hours and it performed excellent.

Pin Box

Hey guys, I'm looking at purchasing a Pullrite Superglide hitch to tow a trailer I don't own yet. It is the Copper Canyon 324bhs. Does anyone know what Pin Box is on this trailer and what capture plate I would need to purchase?
