Outback Sydney 5ht wheel - Electric issues
Hello. This is my 1st post and I hope somebody can help.
We purchased a 2012 Outback Sydney 5ht wheel back in July. We've taken it on the road twice so far. We went to Yosemite on Labor Day weekend and the campground had 50amp hookup. Our fridge didn't work, the lights were dim, water heater didn't work either. We were able to watch tv, use the microwave and the fireplace though. We turned everything off, but the lights still didn't work. Every time we tried to turn the lights on, the propane alarm would go off. I checked all the fuses and everything seemed OK. I also don't understand why the propane was off but the alarm still would go off.
If anybody has experienced these issues, i would appreciate some help. I'm thinking about taking it to the dealer to check what is wrong before our next trip in 2 weeks, but if this is some minor issue, maybe I can fix it myself. It feels like I'm missing something.

The propane alarm is 12v dc and will sound when voltage is low. Your battery is dead or your converter is not working or both. Check the breaker for the converter. Your fridge needs 12v also.

Thank you both!
Do you happen to know where the converter is located?

Should be under the control panel/breaker box. .... When connected to shore power your battery meter should read Full .... if not the converter is not working. The meter should give a fairly accurate reading of the battery's condition when shore power is unplugged.

Start by checking all the breakers in the box. Did you have power at the 50 amp connection? Was the breaker to the power supply in the off position? I know this seems silly but it does happen.

It took me this long to come back to this post because we had some family issues to deal with in the last months. Now everything is great again and we are thinking about taking the Sydney to the lake on Memorial Day.
Back in October, my husband was so mad and took i back to the dealer and demanded a solutions. I don't know what happened, because they tested everything, showed my husband what to do, even said that there was nothing wrong with the RV. So we went for a weekend near Sacramento just to have same nightmare again.
Well, because of all the personal issues, Sydney have been sitting in storage since then. We will buy new batteries this weekend and DH will try to locate the converter and see if there is anything wrong with it.
We truly like this forum but we feel bad for starting this thread and been unable to follow up on it. I hope that from now on we will be able to dedicate more time to our adventures with Sydney and to learn more with the awesome people here.
