Outdoor kitchen door

When it’s raining and my outdoor kitchen (2016 31BHPR) door is open, water enters the kitchen via splashes on the door, overflow drips from easdrough channel or direct rain droplets. This is because there is a Gap in the door and hinge... anyone thoughts on caulking, adding a thick rubber gasket or adding a flashing over the hinge?

I should add that this can accumulate substantial in the kitchen if left open by my kids for example.

But why wasn’t the hinge designed to keep water out so this door is a sort of awning?

Depending on the height of the hinge, if you install shorter pneumatic rods to hold it up, it may "slope" enough to drain water away from the hinge. That wouldn't work if the door is installed "too low" and the lower edge of the door would cause a "head knocker" when open.
