Low Voltage to Slide Out Motor
My touch control panel was replaced by Keystone with mechanical switches. The remote control stuff still works.
The main slide out works faster with the remote than with the mechanical switch. So obviously I have a low voltage problem when using the mechanical switch. There are 4 wires at the motor. Two used by the remote system and two used by the mechanical switch. Both of them are the same gauge of wire.
I looked at the wire going to the mechanical switch and it is the same gauge as the wires at the motor. So I think the wire gauge is ok.
Has anyone had this problem before? I thought the switch might be bad so I used one of the others. I had the same problem.
The factory does not seem to have wire cutters as I have found a lot of excess wire on this RV. At the motor I can pull out several feet of excess wire for one of the two pair. Is it possible there is simply too much excess wire in the pair going to the mechanical switch and that is causing the voltage drop?
Thanks for any insight.
