another newbie question
ok another question that i cant seem to find the answer for. can you run the fridge while going down the road? will it run off the power to the truck? i assume that you cannot use the propane feature due to the wind but will it run in electric mode?

Propane runs no problem going down the road. Most of today's rv refrigerators run on shore power or propane.

 Turn it to propane while traveling, it will stay lit & keep your food cold & freezer frozen. Mine switches automatically to gas once the rig is unpluged & it does not run on 12 volt although some do! BTW welcome to the forum....Joe

Most likely your fridge operates with either 110V AC or by propane and not 12v. Since you probably are not set up to use 110V off a generator, the only option for you would be propane - unless you have a really, really long extension cord!
We have the fridge on all the time on propane and it has never gone out. If you are worried about having the propane on while travelling, you can always plug your fridge in the night before you leave so that it is cold and try not to open it until you arrive at your destination.

so on the auto setting it should switch over by itself?
thanks by the way, i had no idea it would run on gas goin down the road!

When you have the fridge set to Auto, it will automatically switch over from one to the other - depending what the source is. When you hook up to shore power, it will operate on electricity. When you unplug, it will switch over to propane - provided you have your tanks on. If you don't want it running on propane while travelling, select OFF. If you want it running on propane only, press the Gas/Propane button. (this is for the Dm2652 model and a few others. Your fridge buttons and display may be different.

Just a reminder,,,Fridge will not light if battery runs down. Must have battery power to light gas.
Mine has been known to misfire when going back to 110,after power has been off. Watch your chk light.

Run mine on propane all the time we are travelling. I do turn it off when we stop to fuel. I added a togel switch in the fridge vent so that I don't have to go into the camper to turn the fridge off.

While on propane the frig will use some battery power, which will be drawn from the house battery. However while going down the road the truck is giving a very slight charge to the house battery. You should have no problems. When I get to a camp ground, after backing into a spot I unplug from the truck and then plug in the shore power cord. This way I'am using the AC power through the inverter to power slide outs, frig etc. It just takes a heavy load off the house battery.
