Advanced Helium Technology
Does anybody know what "Advanced Helium Technology" is that Keystone is talking about in their Montana High Country? Claims that this technology will reduce weight up to 2500 lbs and so on.

First, all slide-outs are cable rather than rack-and-pinion. Second, just my guess, but since the side walls are vacuum bonded, they likely use minimal aluminum studs. The roof and floor may be similiar, but I didn't check that far. I decided the gray exterior was not a good choice for Texas.

"Advanced Helium Technology" is similar to "Polar and Arctic Packages". All of these terms were coined by those clever marketing folks at Keystone who are full of hot air ( or helium). Makes sense to me that helium would be found in a Montana "High" Country. Doesn't it make sense to you, tlittle2?

Well, the marketing folks at Keystone are certainly full of something, although I'm pretty sure it's not helium...
I expect to see "Incredible Unobtanium Technology" in next year's marketbabble... I'd get in line to buy that.

When I was at the Tampa RV show I looked at a Cougar with the "Helium Technology" I asked the salesman what it meant and he sort of stuttered for a second and went on about how the they were using Helium gas in the making up the walls??? making it lighter.
The Cougar was definitely lighter but after some research it turned out that the ditched the reliable electric slide mechanism with a cable operated one and they made all the holding tanks much smaller and I'm sure they cheapened up it up in other areas as well.
But I will say I liked the exterior better along with the interior cabinetry.

No - I think you'd just add a few more pounds of air to the tires...
And I just noticed the "Extreme Thermal Package" sticker next to the door on mine says I have a 30 BTU furnace. That explains a lot...good thing I have that electric fireplace...

I think a Keystone designer got the idea after watching the movie "UP". But I can't figure out where they hid all those balloons.

I *know* I didn't dream it... I swear I read somewhere that there's also a 3rd line with 'Helium Technology' for 2011 - it might even be another manufacturer. But then again, maybe I DID dream it... we're all suffering from cabin FEVER, right?

After reading the following RV Business article early last year, I was also curious about the "Azdel SuperLite sidewalls". I found some info about the manufacturing process - see the 2nd website.

The folk's at Earthbound RV has some new manufacturing method in the space age construction, has this to say in their web site "There is no wood in an Earthbound RV structure, and our Composite roof, floor, and sidewalls are rot-proof!"
