Spread Axles and X Style Chocks .....
We have a 2015 Bullet 243BHS and I'm wanting some X-chocks. I measure 17" at the closest point between the tires. I'm looking at the Ultra Fab XLs, as I can buy them in a 2 pack.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Or, perhaps the BALs for substantially more money (available only as singles as far as I can find).
https://www.amazon.com/BAL-28014-X-C...WYF9AJKAQWFDZD
Both claim to open to 17"..... which I fear may not be wide enough. Anyone have experience with these? Do they spread enough to work with my Bullet's axles ?
Thanks !

I have the fastway one steps on one side and standard plastic chocks on the other. Just make sure they're the extended fastway one steps. So easy to use.

+1
I user the Anderson if I need to level or Fastway XL on both sides if not.
I keep a length of 2X4 in the front storage, makes it much easier to deploy the XLs. With them and the Steadyfast the trailer is pretty solid.

Do you put the 2X4 on the ground, then the XL on that? I just bought the XL's last month, and have only used it twice.

One Step chocks and BAL Lock Arms for me. They do a fantastic job.

I put the XL down and then use the 2X4, as a lever, to lock it in place.

What do you lever the 2x4 against and how long is it?

It is hard for me to get any leverage to lock them into place so I use the 2X4 like this

I bought the x-chocks designed for wide stance tires, they come only in a single pack and work great

Well, I went ahead and ordered the 2 pack of Ultra-fab X-large chocks. They seem to work just fine.... in the yard. I will try them camping this coming weekend. With 17 inches between my tires at the narrowest point, these obviously open wider than their claimed 17 inches. Under $95 on Amazon. Thanks for all the replies !

It occured to me that this might not help sell these chocks.
To be fair...mine work well without the 2x4, adapt to short or long wheelbase, less money than x-chocks that require a kneel down or squat and crank to install and only one side needed. FWIW...

I wondered how effective the chocks would be as they're SOOO long and extended with spread axles, making them wobbly? It also puts a lot of stress on the axles & mounting components, pushing the axles apart.
I use wheel chocks on both sides of the tires of the front axle, and put a ratcheting cargo strap around each chock/tire/chock to cinch it tight. That made a measurable difference.

Spread axels
Just measure between the tires, closest point. Mine fit with lots of room to move. I live in mine for 3-4 months and they are great.
