PullRight 15K - Autoslide moving around (not towing)

I have noticied that my autoslide part of my hitch (don't know what that is called). slides around while driving (obviously do not have the 5'er hitched up ). Is this normal? Is there a typical way to secure it from moving?

Thanks!

Hi,
I assume you are talking about a Pullrite Superglide hitch? If you look in the owners manual it instructs you on how to adjust the hitch so it doesn't slide around when the traier is not attached. I have tried to adjust mine a couple times, but I have found it easier to just put a bungee cord on the front of the slider and bungee it to the rails. Doing this will keep it from moving and really isn't that much of a hassle. Just don't forget to remove the bungee when towing a trailer or you'll probably break the bungee cord when you turn a corner and scare the #$%^&& out of yourself.

That's it! Great idea. I did not see that in the manual, but I am good at skipping pages . Thanks!

They make a nice cover for the hitch as well that prevents it from slidding around. BUT the bungee idea is cheaper!
